Stainless storage tanks built to hold product safely, with insulation, agitation and the fittings a working plant needs.

Overview
Stainless steel storage tanks hold dry and liquid products and protect them from the surrounding environment. Insulated and refrigerated versions are built in 304 or 316L stainless steel, which is what gives the tank its working life.
Construction options published for this vessel include a 304 or 316L interior at 4 mm with a number 4 finish, a 304 or 316L exterior at 2 mm, polyurethane insulation, vertical three blade agitation and a side manway.
| Interior Construction | 304 or 316 Stainless Steel, 9 Gauge/4mm thick, with #4 finish |
|---|---|
| Exterior Construction | 304 or 316Stainless Steel, 14 Gauge/2mm thick, with #4 finish, max. 90" outside diameter |
| Insulation | Polyurethane, min 2" thick |
| Agitation | Vertical, 3-Blade, 230/460 volt, 3 Phase |
| Manway | Side Entering |
| Inlet/Outlet Ports | Sanitary Clamp Connections |
Key Benefits
Polyurethane insulation between inner and outer shells holds product temperature and reduces condensation.
Vertical three blade agitation keeps product homogeneous during storage rather than letting it separate.
A side manway gives access for inspection and cleaning of the inner shell.
304 for general duty, 316L where chlorides or acids are present.
Application Scenarios
Holding finished or intermediate product between process steps.
Insulated and refrigerated storage where product temperature has to be maintained.
Feeding a filling or process line at a steady rate from a buffer volume.
Vertical agitation keeps the contents homogeneous so the first and last drums match.
Insulated construction reduces the heat gain or loss that forces refrigeration to work harder.
A side manway and a polished interior make inspection and cleaning practical.

Materials And Process
| Mixing tank | A mixing tank is built around process agitation and heat transfer. A storage tank is built to hold product well. |
|---|---|
| Fermentation tank | A fermenter has a conical bottom and process jacket for an active biological process. |
Use Guide
Liquid or dry, temperature, and whether it separates or crusts during storage.
Working volume plus the headspace and the outage the operation requires.
Insulation thickness follows the temperature to be held and the ambient conditions.
Manway position, spray device and drain arrangement, agreed before fabrication.
Answers
