Working Load Limit is the maximum safe load the ratchet strap is designed to hold. It is calculated by dividing the minimum breaking load by the design factor, which is 7:1 for polyester webbing as per EN 1492.
What is the difference between MBL and the safety factor?
Minimum Breaking Load is the least force the webbing and ratchet must withstand before failing. The safety factor is the ratio of MBL to WLL. For polyester webbing, the safety factor is 7:1, so WLL = MBL ÷ 7.
How do I choose the right ratchet strap for my load?
