What grades of welded link chains do you supply?
We supply Grade 30 43 70 80 and 100 welded link chains. Grade 80 and 100 are rated for overhead lifting with a 4:1 design factor. Grade 30 and 43 are for non-overhead applications only.
What is the difference between blackened and hot dip galvanised finishes?
Blackened chains have a surface treatment that reduces rust and improves appearance but offers no corrosion protection. Hot dip galvanised chains have a thick zinc layer that resists corrosion in outdoor and marine environments.
Can Grade 70 chains be used for lifting?
Grade 70 chains are not rated for overhead lifting. They are suitable for tie-down and non-lifting applications. For lifting, use Grade 80 or higher with a 4:1 design factor.
What is the standard design factor for your welded chains?
Standard design factor is 4:1 for rigging chains unless otherwise specified. This applies to Grade 80 and 100 chains used in overhead lifting. Grade 30 and 43 chains are not rated for overhead use.
