Tension Levelers For Galvanizing Coating and Processing Lines

Machines that stretch and bend strip under tension so its shape and internal stress are corrected together.

Rolling leaves uneven longitudinal extension across the strip width. A tension leveler redistributes that stress instead of only flattening what you can see.

Who Buys Tension Levelers

Who orders these machines and what they are trying to fix.

  • Galvanizing and colour coating lines
  • Aluminum strip producers running wide coil
  • Cut to length lines where blanks must stay flat
  • Plants replacing a leveler that cannot hold flatness at full width
  • Bilateral, unilateral, middle and two rib wave
  • Warping and buckling that appears after cutting
  • Formability problems in downstream pressing
  • Flatness varying between coils and shifts

Why Plants Source Tension Levelers From Ascon

What our configuration gives you.

Two Stage Correction

Alternating deformation distributes residual deformation evenly, then a second stage corrects it fully, which is why the flatness survives cutting.

Tension Stabilised At Both Ends

Inlet and outlet tension rolls suppress fluctuation and the roll group amplifies tension through the levelling section.

Roll Spares From The Same Shop

Work rolls, intermediate rolls, back up rolls and cassettes are made here, so replacements match the original drawing.

Application Scenarios

Where these machines sit in a plant.

Galvanizing Lines

After the annealing furnace, correcting shape before the coating section sees the strip.

Colour Coating Lines

Ahead of the coater, where coating makes every remaining wave visible.

Aluminum Strip Lines

On tension levelling and continuous annealing lines for wide aluminum coil.

FAQ

Tension Levelers Buying Questions

What flatness can a tension leveler hold?

It depends on the material and configuration. On wide aluminum coil we work from incoming flatness of 30-50 I down to 3-5 I. On steel strip the target is agreed from your incoming shape data.

What is the difference between tension levelling and roller levelling?

Roller levelling bends the strip. Tension levelling applies tension as well, which redistributes residual stress so the strip stays flat after it is cut.

Can a leveler be retrofitted into an existing line?

Yes, that is common. We need the line layout, available length, speed and tension data to confirm the configuration.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope and width. Send your line data and we confirm lead time with the quotation.

Do you supply the roll sets afterwards?

Yes. The complete roll system is manufactured here so spares match the original drawing.

Which materials can you level?

Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and titanium, with the roll configuration selected per material and gauge.
