What LSM401(L-4S+) Is Built For
LSM401(L-4S+) is a bias OTR tyre designed for loaders operating under seriously tough service conditions in tunnels. The flat and smooth tread pattern reduces the risk of punctures from stone, while the construction delivers excellent wear and cut resistance in abrasive underground environments. It is available in two ply ratings, 14 and 16, for the 10.00-20 size, with a tread depth of 45.0 mm and a rim width of 7.5. The tyre is intended for use on loaders in mining, tunneling and underground construction applications where durability and puncture resistance are critical.

- Rim width of 7.5 matches standard loader wheel configurations in underground applications
Problems It Solves
- Frequent punctures from stone and debris in underground tunnels due to aggressive tread patterns
- Premature casing failure from cuts and abrasion in rocky, uneven tunnel floors
- Short tyre life caused by high wear rates in continuous underground operations
- Inconsistent performance when using general-purpose OTR tyres not designed for underground duty
- Downtime from tyre failure in confined underground spaces where replacement is difficult
Who It Is For
- Mining and tunneling contractors sourcing tyres for underground loaders
- Fleet operators managing loader fleets in confined, abrasive underground environments
- Distributors supplying tyres to underground construction and mining markets in Asia, Africa and South America
- Government or public works buyers for infrastructure projects requiring durable OTR tyres
- Contractors bidding on underground works where tyre reliability is a key part of the operational plan
Application Scenarios
- Loaders operating in underground mining tunnels with sharp rock, debris and uneven surfaces
- Tunnel construction projects where tyre damage from stone and impact is frequent
- Underground material handling in quarries or infrastructure projects with high abrasion
- Fleets managing loaders that run long shifts in confined, rough underground spaces
- Operations where tyre replacement downtime must be minimized due to access constraints
Technical Features
- Bias casing construction with 14 and 16 ply ratings for 10.00-20 size
- Flat and smooth tread design to reduce stone penetration and improve puncture resistance
- 45.0 mm tread depth across both ply ratings for extended casing life
- Section width of 278 mm and overall diameter of 1073 mm for consistent fitment on standard loader rims
- Rim width of 7.5 for compatibility with common loader wheel assemblies

Where This Pattern Wins and Where It Does Not
Compared With General-purpose OTR tyres with deep lugs
Deep lugs grip better in mud but are more prone to stone penetration and wear faster on hard, rocky tunnel floors
Compared With Radial OTR tyres for underground use
Radial tyres may offer better rolling efficiency but are generally less resistant to cuts and punctures in sharp, abrasive environments
Compared With Tyres designed for surface construction sites
Surface tyres are not built for the continuous impact and stone exposure common in underground tunnels
Use Guide
- Match ply rating to the actual axle load: 14 PR for 3260 kg at 670 kPa, 16 PR for 3535 kg at 770 kPa
- Ensure the rim width is 7.5; mismatched rims can cause improper fit and casing damage
- Inflate to the pressure specified for the load and ply rating; underinflation increases wear and risk of failure
- Inspect the tread and sidewall after each shift for embedded stone or cuts, especially in rocky conditions
- Rotate tyres before uneven wear becomes severe, particularly on loaders with one-sided load patterns
LSM401(L-4S+) Buying Questions
What is the minimum order quantity?
We load by full container. A 40HQ of 10.00-20 typically fills at container weight rather than volume, so the practical minimum is one container. Mixed loads across sizes and patterns are accepted.
What is the lead time?
It depends on whether the size is in stock at the plant or has to be produced. We confirm current availability with the plant at the time of quotation rather than quoting a standard figure.
Which sizes are available?
10.00-20 in 14 PR and 16 PR. Full load index, rim and pressure data for each is in the size table on this page.
Is this tyre suitable for surface use?
No. It is designed specifically for underground work in tunnels. It is not intended for surface construction, quarry or highway applications.
Can you supply DOT or ECE marked tyres?
Marking requirements vary by destination. Tell us the import market and we confirm what marking the plant can supply on that size before you place the order.
What warranty do you give?
One year against manufacturing defect on all tyres we supply, with claims handled by us directly. Cargo transportation insurance is provided on the shipment itself.
Can you ship a mixed container with other patterns?
Yes. Most of our customers load one container across several patterns and sizes, which is the main reason to buy through us rather than from a single plant.
