Ocean Freight Documents and Certificates of Origin
Seven of the world's top ten container ports are in China. That is a real advantage for a buyer, but only if the paperwork behind the container is right. Most delays we see at the far end are documentary, not logistical.
Why This Exists
A container that arrives with the wrong certificate of origin, an invoice that does not match the packing list, or a description that does not match the tariff code your broker expects will sit at the port accruing charges while it is corrected. The freight was never the difficult part. The documents are where an import goes wrong, and they have to be right before the container leaves, not after it arrives.
Step by Step
Routing
We load from Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin or Hong Kong, choosing the port that fits the plants in your order and the service to your destination.
Carrier Booking
Booked with MAERSK, MSC, COSCO, CMA CGM, EVERGREEN, PIL, ZIM or SWIRE. For urgent small quantities we ship air with DHL or UPS instead.
Loading and Tally
The container is loaded and tallied against the packing list so what is on paper is what is in the box.
Certificate of Origin
All kinds of certificate of origin are available. Tell us which form your import position requires and we issue that one, not the generic default.
Insurance
Cargo transportation insurance is arranged on the shipment, covering the transit risk that no warranty covers.
Document Set
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, consistent with each other and with the description your broker expects.
Transit
You have the document set and the sailing details, so your broker can prepare the entry before the vessel arrives rather than after.

Which certificate of origin can you issue?
All standard kinds are available. Which one you want depends on the trade agreement you are importing under. Tell us the destination and the agreement and we will issue the right form.
Do you quote FOB or CIF?
Either. Tell us your load port and destination and we will quote both if it helps you compare against your own freight rates.
Can you air freight?
Yes, with DHL or UPS. It only makes sense for small urgent quantities, typically when a machine is down, but the option is there.
Is insurance included?
Cargo transportation insurance is provided on the shipment. That covers transit risk, which is separate from the one year manufacturing defect warranty.
Which port will my container ship from?
Whichever suits the plants supplying your order and the service to your destination. We will tell you at quotation so you can check the routing.
How do I pay, and to which account?
Terms are agreed at the time of order. We only ever use one bank account, at Bank of China Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Branch. If you receive any other account details in our name, they are fraudulent. Contact us before paying anything.
