Sourcing Other Products on Customer Request

Tyres are what we specialise in, but they are not the limit of what we source. Our founder has been trading since 2006 across digital printing materials, auto parts and car batteries before tyres, and customers still ask us to find things outside the catalogue.

The problem

Why This Exists

An importer who has built a working relationship with a supplier in China does not want to start again from zero for the next product line. Finding a new supplier means new due diligence, new payment risk, new quality uncertainty and a new set of documents. Most of the value in a supplier relationship is not the product. It is knowing that the money arrives where it should and the container contains what the invoice says.

How it works

Step by Step

1

Brief

Tell us what you need, with specification, target price and the volume that makes it worth doing. Photographs or a sample help more than a description.

2

Feasibility

We tell you quickly whether it is something we can sensibly source. If it is outside what we can do properly, we say so rather than take the enquiry and go quiet.

3

Supplier Search

We identify candidate suppliers and check them the way we would for our own account.

4

Sampling

Samples where the product warrants it, assessed against your specification before any production commitment.

5

Order and Inspection

Order placed, with inspection appropriate to the product and the volume.

6

Consolidation

Where it fits, the goods ship in the same container as your tyre order, with the same documents and the same insurance.

What you get

What Changes for You

  • One supplier relationship extended across more than one product category
  • Sourcing handled by a counterparty you have already dealt with and can hold accountable
  • Consolidation with an existing tyre shipment where the product allows
  • The same documentation and insurance arrangements as your tyre orders
  • An honest answer when something is outside what we can do well
Who it is for

Buyers Who Get the Most From This

  • Existing tyre customers adding an adjacent product line
  • Importers who need one trusted counterparty rather than five new ones
  • Buyers with a small requirement that no dedicated supplier will take seriously
  • Anyone wanting to test a new product line without building a new supply chain for it
Questions

Sourcing Beyond Tyres Questions

What kinds of products do you source?

It varies with what customers ask for. Our trading history covers digital printing materials, auto parts and car batteries as well as tyres. Ask us and we will tell you honestly whether it is in range.

Do I have to be an existing tyre customer?

No, but most sourcing requests come from customers we already work with, because the relationship is what makes it worth doing for both sides.

Can non-tyre goods ship in my tyre container?

Often yes, if the product is compatible with the loading and the documentation. We will tell you at quotation whether it works.

How do you check a new supplier?

The same way we would for our own purchases. What that involves depends on the product and the value, and we will explain what we did before you commit.

What if you cannot source it?

We tell you. Taking an enquiry we cannot fulfil and going quiet on it costs you more time than a straight no.

How is payment handled?

Terms are agreed per order. As with everything, we only use our Bank of China Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone account. Any other account details in our name are fraudulent.
