LP401(IND-4)
- 3 sizes
- Bias OTR
LP401(IND-4) is a bias construction port tyre designed for heavy-duty terminal operations involving container handling, straddle carriers, and reach stackers. The extra deep tread pattern is intended to extend casing life under high-cycle, low-speed conditions typical of port environments.

What LP401(IND-4) Is Built For
LP401(IND-4) is a bias construction port tyre designed for heavy-duty terminal operations involving container handling, straddle carriers, and reach stackers. The extra deep tread pattern is intended to extend casing life under high-cycle, low-speed conditions typical of port environments. Wider tread blocks improve traction on wet or uneven surfaces, while the special compound reduces heat generation during prolonged idling and frequent starts. It is supplied in three sizes: 14.00-24, 16.00-25, and 18.00-25, with ply ratings of 28, 36, and 40 respectively, and all sizes have a tread depth of 1000 mm. The tyre is not suitable for on-road or highway use.

- Traction loss on wet or uneven port surfaces caused by narrow or poorly spaced tread blocks
- Excessive heat generation leading to casing degradation during frequent starts and idling
- Inconsistent tyre performance across different equipment types due to lack of dedicated port patterns
- Multiple suppliers and paperwork for different tyre types used across a single terminal fleet
Who It Is For

- Fleet managers replacing tyres that fail due to heat buildup or shallow tread wear in terminal use
- Distributors supplying tyres to port authorities and logistics companies in Asia, Africa and South America
- Contractors bidding on port infrastructure projects requiring compliant, durable tyres for terminal equipment
- Importers needing a single supplier for mixed OTR tyre loads across multiple port equipment types
Application Scenarios
- Container handling operations on quayside where tyres endure repeated starts, stops and lateral forces
- Straddle carrier movements on paved and uneven port yards with frequent turning and load shifts
- Reach stacker operations in high-traffic container yards requiring consistent traction and durability
- Heavy-duty terminal equipment operating at low speeds with high axle loads and frequent idling
- Operations in hot climates where heat buildup in tyres can lead to premature casing failure
Technical Features
- Bias construction with extra deep tread pattern to extend casing life in port environments
- Wider tread blocks to enhance traction on wet or uneven terminal surfaces
- Special compound designed for low heat generation and excellent wear resistance under port duty
- Tread depth of 1000 mm on all three sizes, consistent across the range
- Designed specifically for port equipment with no intended use on public roads or highways

Where This Pattern Wins and Where It Does Not
Compared With General industrial bias tyres
LP401(IND-4) has a deeper tread and wider blocks specifically for port traction and heat resistance, not suitable for general industrial use
Compared With Highway bias truck tyres
Designed for low-speed, high-cycle port duty; not rated for highway speeds or long-distance travel
Compared With Standard OTR tyres for mining or construction
Tread pattern and compound are optimized for port surfaces, not for off-road mud or rock; less effective in rough terrain
Use Guide
- Match ply rating to your equipment’s actual axle load, not to the highest available rating
- Use the correct rim size listed for each tyre: 10.0 for 14.00-24, 11.25/2.0 for 16.00-25, 13.00/2.5 for 18.00-25
- Inflate to the pressure shown in the size table at maximum load; underinflation increases heat and wear
- Inspect tread blocks and groove bottoms after each shift for embedded debris that may cause casing damage
- Rotate tyres between positions if uneven wear develops, especially on equipment with one-way load patterns
LP401(IND-4) Buying Questions
What is the minimum order quantity?
We load by full container. A 40HQ of 14.00-24 or 18.00-25 typically fills at container weight rather than volume, so the practical minimum is one container. Mixed loads across sizes and patterns are accepted.
What is the lead time?
It depends on whether the size is in stock at the plant or has to be produced. We confirm current availability with the plant at the time of quotation rather than quoting a standard figure.
Which sizes are available?
14.00-24 in 28PR, 16.00-25 in 36PR, and 18.00-25 in 40PR. Full load index, rim and pressure data for each is in the size table on this page.
Is this tyre suitable for highway use?
No. It is designed exclusively for port operations and is not rated for highway speeds or on-road duty.
Can you supply DOT or ECE marked tyres?
Marking requirements vary by destination. Tell us the import market and we confirm what marking the plant can supply on that size before you place the order.
What warranty do you give?
One year against manufacturing defect on all tyres we supply, with claims handled by us directly. Cargo transportation insurance is provided on the shipment itself.
Can you ship a mixed container with other patterns?
Yes. Most of our customers load one container across several patterns and sizes, which is the main reason to buy through us rather than from a single plant.
