KTS300-New is a radial steer-axle truck tyre designed for regional and national transport fleets operating on mixed surfaces, including paved highways and light unpaved roads. The shoulder block pattern is optimized to resist damage from curbs, potholes and uneven terrain, while the stone rejection design prevents aggregate from lodging in the tread grooves and causing casing failure.

What KTS300-New Is Built For
KTS300-New is a radial steer-axle truck tyre designed for regional and national transport fleets operating on mixed surfaces, including paved highways and light unpaved roads. The shoulder block pattern is optimized to resist damage from curbs, potholes and uneven terrain, while the stone rejection design prevents aggregate from lodging in the tread grooves and causing casing failure. Tread depth ranges from 13.5 mm to 17.0 mm across sizes, supporting long casing life and retreadability. The tyre is available in 15 sizes from 12R22.5 to 385/65R22.5, with ply ratings from 16 to 24 and load indices up to 164(158), covering most regional delivery trucks, buses and light haulers.
Manufacturer Feature Claims
- Suitable for the Steer Axle of Trucks Running Under an Wide Range of Use, from Highway to Light Unpaved Road
- Optimization of the shoulder block improves resistance to shoulder damage
- Lasting grip and stability, with stone rejection design
- High wear resistance
Key Benefits
- Optimized shoulder block pattern resists damage from curbs, potholes and uneven surfaces on light unpaved roads
- Stone rejection design prevents trapped aggregate from working through to the belt package
- Tread depth from 13.5 mm to 17.0 mm supports extended casing life and retreadability
- Available in 15 sizes across 12R22.5 to 385/65R22.5, covering most regional delivery trucks and buses
- Load index up to 164(158) and max load of 4500 kg single at 900 kPa on 385/55R22.5 fitment
Problems It Solves
- Steer tyres fail early on mixed surfaces due to shoulder damage from curbs and potholes, not tread wear
- Stones lodged in tread grooves drill through to the belt package, causing casing loss before the tread is worn out
- Running separate tyres for highway and light off-road use increases stock and fitting complexity
- Low tread depth on some regional tyres limits casing life and retreadability on long-haul regional routes
- Lack of stone rejection design leads to early casing failure on gravel and unpaved access roads
Who It Is For
- Tyre distributors supplying regional and urban transport fleets in Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East
- Fleet operators replacing steer-axle tyres that fail due to shoulder damage rather than tread wear
- Importers needing one steer pattern that covers both highway and light off-road use without seasonal changeover
- Government and municipal transport agencies buying tyres by the container for captive regional fleets
Application Scenarios
- Regional delivery trucks running daily between city distribution hubs and rural delivery points on mixed road surfaces
- City and suburban bus fleets operating on paved routes with occasional access to gravel or unpaved service roads
- Light hauler trucks transporting goods between regional depots and warehouses on low-traffic roads with occasional rough patches
- Fleets operating in markets with seasonal surface degradation where pavement quality varies between dry and wet seasons
- Contractors supplying parts and materials to remote sites via paved roads and light gravel access routes
Technical Features
- Shoulder block pattern optimized for resistance to damage from curbs, potholes and uneven terrain
- Stone rejection profile in the groove bottom ejects trapped aggregate under deflection
- Radial casing construction with tread depth from 13.5 mm to 17.0 mm across all listed sizes
- Tread compound designed for high wear resistance and consistent grip on both paved and light unpaved surfaces
- Stable handling and directional stability maintained across a wide range of inflation pressures

Where This Pattern Wins and Where It Does Not
Compared With Standard highway steer tyres
KTS300-New has a reinforced shoulder and stone rejection design for better durability on unpaved access roads; highway-only tyres wear faster on rough surfaces
Compared With Dedicated off-road steer tyres
A deep-lug off-road pattern grips better in mud but wears faster and runs noisier on paved roads; KTS300-New balances performance across mixed surfaces
Compared With Tyres with no stone rejection design
Without stone rejection, trapped aggregate causes early casing failure; KTS300-New’s groove profile reduces this risk
Use Guide
- Match ply rating to your actual axle load, not to the heaviest tyre available - overspecifying costs money and rides hard
- Check the standard rim listed against your wheel: 9.00 for 295/80R22.5, 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5, 315/60R22.5; 9.75 for 315/60R22.5; 11.75 for 385/65R22.5; 12.25 for 385/55R22.5
- Inflate to the pressure shown for your load in the size table; dual and single fitment pressures differ
- Inspect groove bottoms for lodged stone after every cycle on unpaved roads to protect the casing
- Rotate steer positions before irregular wear sets in, particularly on fleets running one-way loads
KTS300-New Buying Questions
What is the minimum order quantity?
We load by full container. A 40HQ of 12R22.5 or 385/55R22.5 typically fills at container weight rather than volume, so the practical minimum is one container. Mixed loads across sizes and patterns are accepted.
What is the lead time?
It depends on whether the size is in stock at the plant or has to be produced. We confirm current availability with the plant at the time of quotation rather than quoting a standard figure.
Which sizes are available?
12R22.5 in 16PR, 295/80R22.5 in 16PR and 18PR, 315/80R22.5 in 18PR, 20PR, 22PR, 315/70R22.5 in 16PR and 18PR, 315/60R22.5 in 16PR and 18PR, 385/55R22.5 in 18PR and 20PR, 385/65R22.5 in 20PR. Full load index, rim and pressure data for each is in the size table on this page.
Can you supply DOT or ECE marked tyres?
Marking requirements vary by destination. Tell us the import market and we confirm what marking the plant can supply on that size before you place the order.
What warranty do you give?
One year against manufacturing defect on all tyres we supply, with claims handled by us directly. Cargo transportation insurance is provided on the shipment itself.
Can you ship a mixed container with other patterns?
Yes. Most of our customers load one container across several patterns and sizes, which is the main reason to buy through us rather than from a single plant.
Is this tyre suitable for unpaved roads?
Yes. The shoulder block and stone rejection design are specifically optimized for light unpaved roads and mixed surface use.
