KMD403-New is a radial drive-axle truck tyre designed for trucks that operate across varied terrain, including paved highways, gravel haul roads, construction sites, and quarry access routes. The tread pattern prioritizes traction and durability under load rather than rolling efficiency, with a thick sidewall to resist impacts and bruising from curbs, rocks, and uneven surfaces.

What KMD403-New Is Built For
KMD403-New is a radial drive-axle truck tyre designed for trucks that operate across varied terrain, including paved highways, gravel haul roads, construction sites, and quarry access routes. The tread pattern prioritizes traction and durability under load rather than rolling efficiency, with a thick sidewall to resist impacts and bruising from curbs, rocks, and uneven surfaces. Stone rejection grooves prevent aggregate from lodging in the tread base, reducing the risk of casing damage. HAT technology minimizes heat buildup during sustained operation. The tyre is available in 11 sizes across 16, 18, and 20 ply ratings, with load indices from 150/147 to 160/156, and speed symbols K or L, covering most 6x4 and 8x4 drive axles in regional and intercity transport.
Manufacturer Feature Claims
- Suitable for Drive Axle of Trucks Under All Kinds of Working Conditions
- Thick sidewall design protects against sidewall impacts and bruises
- Stone rejection design protects groove bottom from stone puncture
- HAT technology:Low heat generation
Key Benefits
- Thick sidewall construction resists impacts and bruises from curbs, rocks, and uneven surfaces on mixed-duty routes
- Stone rejection groove design prevents trapped aggregate from damaging the belt package
- HAT technology reduces heat generation during prolonged operation under load
- 11 size and ply combinations from 11.00R20 to 315/80R22.5 cover most 6x4 and 8x4 drive axles in regional and off-road transport
- Load index up to 160/156 carries 4500 kg dual at 850 kPa on the 12.00R24 20PR fitment
Problems It Solves
- Standard highway drive tyres fail early on unsealed roads due to thin sidewalls vulnerable to kerb and rock impacts
- Stones trapped in groove bottoms drill through to the belt package, causing casing loss before tread wear is complete
- Using separate tyres for on-road and off-road duty increases stock, fitting labour, and inventory complexity
- High heat buildup in long-haul or heavy-load conditions leads to casing degradation and premature failure
Who It Is For
- Tyre distributors supplying fleets that operate on mixed-surface routes across Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East
- Fleet operators replacing drive-axle tyres that fail due to sidewall bruising rather than tread wear
- Importers sourcing tyres for mixed-duty applications where a single pattern must cover both on-road and off-road use
- Mining and civil contractors buying tyres by the container for captive fleets with varied terrain exposure
Application Scenarios
- Regional haul trucks running from city distribution centres to gravel access roads and back on tarmac
- Construction site dump trucks moving loaded material over unsealed access roads and paved highways
- Quarry haul trucks operating on graded haul roads with frequent kerb contact and rock impacts
- Fleets operating in mountainous or rural areas with mixed-surface routes and variable load conditions
- Timber and agricultural haulage trucks that spend part of the route on unsurfaced roads and part on paved highways
Technical Features
- Drive-axle radial construction with tread block pattern optimized for traction under load across all terrain types
- Reinforced sidewall gauge to absorb lateral impact and bruising on rough and unsealed surfaces
- Stone rejection profile in the groove bottom to eject trapped aggregate under deflection
- HAT technology reduces heat generation during sustained operation under heavy load
- Tread depth ranges from 18.5 mm to 20.0 mm, with norm standards specified per size (GB, ETRTO)

Where This Pattern Wins and Where It Does Not
Compared With Standard highway drive tyres such as the KMD400-NEW series
KMD403-New sacrifices rolling resistance and highway mileage for durability on unsealed roads; on pure motorway work a highway pattern will last longer per millimetre
Compared With Dedicated off-road drive tyres
A deep-lug off-road pattern grips better in mud but wears faster and runs noisier on paved sections of the same route
Compared With Separate on-road and off-road drive patterns
Using two patterns increases stock, fitting labour, and inventory complexity; KMD403-New covers both with one fitment
Use Guide
- Match ply rating to your actual axle load, not to the heaviest tyre available – overspecifying increases cost and ride harshness
- Check the standard rim listed against your wheel: 8.0 for 11.00R20, 8.5 for 12.00R20 and 12.00R24, 9.00 for 12R22.5 and 295/80R22.5, 9.75 for 13R22.5
- Inflate to the pressure shown for your load in the size table; dual and single fitment pressures differ
- Rotate drive positions before irregular wear sets in, particularly on fleets running heavy one-way loads
- Inspect groove bottoms for lodged stone after every off-road cycle to protect the casing for retreading
KMD403-New Buying Questions
What is the minimum order quantity?
We load by full container. A 40HQ of 11.00R20 or 315/80R22.5 typically fills at container weight rather than volume, so the practical minimum is one container. Mixed loads across sizes and patterns are accepted.
What is the lead time?
It depends on whether the size is in stock at the plant or has to be produced. We confirm current availability with the plant at the time of quotation rather than quoting a standard figure.
Which sizes are available?
11.00R20 in 16PR and 18PR, 12.00R20 in 18PR, 12.00R24 in 18PR and 20PR, 12R22.5 in 16PR and 18PR, 13R22.5 in 18PR, 295/80R22.5 in 16PR and 18PR, and 315/80R22.5 in 18PR and 20PR. Full load index, rim and pressure data for each is in the size table on this page.
Is this tyre legal for winter use?
It carries the K and L speed symbols but does not carry M+S or 3PMSF markings. Confirm your own market’s winter regulation before ordering.
Can you supply DOT or ECE marked tyres?
Marking requirements vary by destination. Tell us the import market and we confirm what marking the plant can supply on that size before you place the order.
What warranty do you give?
One year against manufacturing defect on all tyres we supply, with claims handled by us directly. Cargo transportation insurance is provided on the shipment itself.
Can you ship a mixed container with other patterns?
Yes. Most of our customers load one container across several patterns and sizes, which is the main reason to buy through us rather than from a single plant.
