Steam Sterilizer Questions

What is the difference between Class B and Class N sterilization
Class B uses fractionated vacuum to remove air from wrapped and hollow loads before steam enters, ensuring sterilization. Class N handles only unwrapped solid instruments. The Novo Pro 23L runs Class B cycles conforming to EN 13060.
What water does the sterilizer need
Feed water must meet EN 13060 Annex C, which means conductivity below 5 microsiemens per centimetre. Distilled water from a Distilo water distiller meets this. Tap water scales the boiler and shortens the life of the machine.
How many instrument trays fit in one load
The carrier takes up to five trays, or three trays when they are rotated 90 degrees. The steel wire carrier measures 410 x 205 x 200 mm and the aluminium trays 380 x 193 x 16 mm.
How are cycle records kept for an inspection
Every cycle is written to SD card or USB. A built in automatic printer and an external printer are both available as options, so a paper record can be attached to the day sheet as well.
What power supply does it need
200-240 Vac, 50/60 Hz single phase, nominally 230 Vac at 50 Hz, drawing 2700 W and protected by a 16 A fuse. Plan a dedicated circuit rather than sharing a socket with other equipment.
Can it be used at altitude
The unit is rated to 3500 m above sea level. Above that height it must not be used, because the pressure and temperature relationship the cycle depends on no longer holds.
