Application Overview
Float glass production demands extreme raw material consistency because the continuous process runs 24/7 for years between furnace rebuilds. Any raw material batch variation can cause visible color shifts, seed (bubble) defects, or composition inhomogeneity across the ribbon width. Nepheline syenite serves the same role in flat glass as in container glass — partial soda ash replacement plus alumina source — but the consistency requirements are even more stringent.
