Nepheline Syenite for Tableware and Fine Dinnerware
Fine tableware sells on translucency and whiteness and is returned for chipped rims. All three properties are decided in the body recipe, and the flux is the component that controls them.
Technical Requirements
- Translucency from a well-developed glass phase
- Brilliant white rather than cream after firing
- Chip resistance at plate rims and cup edges
- Smooth surfaces that need less finishing
Why This Flux
Glass phase for translucency
A high alumina-to-silica ratio promotes the glass phase that gives fine porcelain its translucency.
Colourless glass phase
At Fe2O3 0.08% the glass phase stays clear, producing brilliant whiteness instead of yellowing.
Higher alumina, harder rims
20-24% Al2O3 against 17-19% from feldspar means a harder, more chip-resistant edge.
200 mesh for smooth surfaces
Fine particle size produces the ultra-smooth fired surface expected on hotel ware.
Grades We Recommend Here
K200Nepheline Powder K200 Ultra White
The lowest iron grade we produce, for bodies that have to fire white
TX101Potassium Feldspar TX101 Ultra White
K-feldspar taken through an extra purification stage for whiteness-critical work

Questions From Tableware and Dinnerware Producers
Which grade should I start with for tableware and dinnerware?
Most customers start with K200 and TX101. We ship 1-5 kg samples of each grade you want to compare, with a Certificate of Analysis so you can check our numbers against your own laboratory results.
Can I get samples before ordering?
Yes. We ship 1-5 kg of each grade by DHL or FedEx at our expense. Samples reach most international destinations in 5-7 days and each one includes a Certificate of Analysis.
What is the lead time?
Production runs 7-14 days from order confirmation. Standard grades are normally held in stock, so container loading often starts within 3-5 working days.
What quality documentation comes with a shipment?
A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis covering XRF chemistry, particle size, moisture and fired whiteness at 1200 degrees C. We send it for approval before loading, and originals travel with the shipping paperwork.
