View SpecificationMost semi-trailers produced today can be equipped with intelligent systems that were specialist options a decade ago. Understanding what they do, and which of them are worth paying for in your operation, is becoming part of the buying decision rather than an afterthought.
Advanced intelligent systems on modern semi-trailers include tire pressure monitoring, automatic charging and deflating, and brake disc wear alarm sensors. Each of these addresses a failure mode that otherwise only becomes visible when something has already gone wrong: an under-inflated tire that is destroying itself, or a brake disc worn past its limit.
The common effect is improved safety and reliability of the vehicle. A driver who knows a tire is losing pressure can stop before a blowout; a fleet that knows brake wear rates can plan the replacement rather than discover it at a roadside inspection.
Research and development of intelligent trailer systems continues to advance, achieving functions such as self-reported weight, load optimisation, trailer height adjustment and axle upgrading. These improve transportation efficiency and management level, particularly for fleets where load planning and axle compliance are daily concerns.
In practice, these systems pay back fastest in operations where a single failure is expensive: long remote routes, cryogenic and pressurised cargo, and high-value loads. On short shuttle cycles with a workshop at each end, simpler is often better.
There is a counterargument worth taking seriously. Every electronic system is another thing that can fail where there is no diagnostic equipment. That is why we still recommend mechanical suspension and simple hydraulics for mine sites and unsealed roads, and reserve the intelligent packages for operations that can support them.
ABS anti-lock braking is available across most of our range and required in a growing number of markets. Calibrated level gauges are fitted on cryogenic builds, vapour recovery is available on LNG vessels, and anti-leak monitoring is standard on some fuel tanker builds. Tell us what monitoring your operation needs and we will specify it at order.

A working comparison of the ten semi-trailer types we build most often, what each is actually for, and how to pick the one that matches your cargo and your roads.
Flatbeds and lowbeds both have open platforms and are easily confused. The structural difference decides which one your cargo can legally travel on.
How trailer pricing actually works, what moves the number, and reference FOB prices for a range of SINOHENG models.
Tell us what monitoring you need at order and we will specify what can be fitted to the model you are buying.
It is standard on some models and optional on others. Several export markets now require it, so tell us the destination country and we will confirm.
Often not. Where there is no diagnostic equipment, every electronic system is another thing that can strand the trailer. We usually recommend mechanical simplicity for that duty.
Calibrated level gauges, since a cryogenic tank level cannot be checked visually, along with specified relief valve settings and optional vapour recovery.
Some of it, depending on the system and the trailer. Ask us before ordering, since fitting at build is usually cheaper and neater.
Send your operating conditions and we will turn the guidance above into a configured trailer and a price.
