What This Part Does On The Machine
An oil bellows, also called an oil seal, is the concertina boot that keeps lubricating oil in the drive and dirt and lint out of it while the shaft or rod moves. On a warp knitting machine there are many of them, and they are consumable.
The range covers one, three and five layer bellows, bottle and hat shapes, straight and slanting bases in aluminium and other materials, locking rings, oil stoppers, oil shields, oil cups and oil window covers.

Count the concertina folds on the side of the old bellows. One, three and five layer types are all listed here.
Do I need the base as well?
Only if the base is cracked or the wrong height. Bases are listed separately in high, low, slanting and aluminium forms.
How many should I stock?
Bellows are a running consumable. Most mills hold a set for the positions that fail most often rather than a full machine set.
