Warp Knitting Machine Parts
Raschel Latch Needles
Latch needles for raschel warp knitting machines.
What This Part Does On The Machine
A latch needle closes its own hook. The old loop, riding up the shank as the needle rises, swings the latch open; on the downstroke the same loop swings the latch shut over the new yarn and is cast off. Nothing else has to move to close the hook, which is why raschel machines can run coarse gauges and heavy yarns with a simple drive.
Latch needles are specified by the reference on the needle itself, which fixes the hook size, the latch length, the shank form and the overall length. Two needles that look alike can differ by a fraction of a millimetre in the latch seat and will not run together in the same bar.
Where It Is Used

Can I mix new needles with old ones in the same bar?
It is better not to. New and part-worn needles sit at slightly different heights and the loop length changes across the join, which shows in the fabric.
What does the number after Raschel-Spec mean?
It is the needle reference carried on the original catalogue listing. Quote it exactly as it appears and we will match it.
How do I confirm the part fits my machine?
Send the machine brand, the machine type and the gauge together with a photograph of the old part. Where a number is cast or stamped on the part, send that as well. We match against the reference used on this site and confirm before anything is produced or shipped.
Can you supply a small quantity?
Yes. The original company statement is that quick delivery is done for any order, even for a small order size. Send the quantity you actually need and we will quote it.
Which countries do you ship to?
Products have been exported worldwide, covering Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
How do I get a price?
Send the part reference, the gauge and the quantity by WhatsApp or email to [email protected] and we will come back with a quotation.
