Warp Knitting Machine Parts
Guide Units
Cast guide units that lap the yarn around the needle.
What This Part Does On The Machine
Guides are the thin blades with an eye at the tip that carry the warp yarn. The guide bar swings them through the needle line and shogs them sideways, and that combination of swing and shog is what decides the lapping and therefore the fabric structure.
Guides are cast into units so that a bar carrying several hundred guides can be built up and set as blocks. A bent guide, or one with a worn eye, puts a permanent line in the fabric at that needle, which is why guide units are usually the first thing checked when a vertical streak appears.

12 parts listedGuide Units FAQ
What causes a single vertical line in the fabric?
Most often one guide with a worn or chipped eye. Mark the needle position, count across to the unit and replace that unit.
Are guide units gauge specific?
Yes. The guide spacing has to match the needle spacing, so the gauge must be stated on the order.
How do I confirm the part fits my machine?
