Warp Knitting Machine Parts
Compound Needles
Two-piece compound needles for high speed tricot machines.
What This Part Does On The Machine
A compound needle splits the job in two: an open hook and a separate closing element, usually called the closing wire or tongue, that slides in a groove along the needle. The hook and the closing element are driven independently, so the needle stroke can be much shorter than a latch needle needs.
A short stroke is what allows a tricot machine to run at high speed. It also means the hook and the closing element must stay matched. If the closing element is worn, bent or from a different set, the hook will not close cleanly and the machine drops stitches at speed even though it runs quietly slow.
Where It Is Used
High speed tricot machines and other compound needle warp knitting machines.

Do I order the closing element separately?
Tell us whether you need the hook, the closing element or both. They wear at different rates and are quoted separately.
Why does the machine only drop stitches at full speed?
That is the usual sign of a hook and closing element that no longer meet at the right moment. Check for wear on the closing element before changing anything else.
How do I confirm the part fits my machine?
Send the machine brand, the machine type and the gauge together with a photograph of the old part. Where a number is cast or stamped on the part, send that as well. We match against the reference used on this site and confirm before anything is produced or shipped.
Can you supply a small quantity?
Yes. The original company statement is that quick delivery is done for any order, even for a small order size. Send the quantity you actually need and we will quote it.
Which countries do you ship to?
Products have been exported worldwide, covering Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
How do I get a price?
Send the part reference, the gauge and the quantity by WhatsApp or email to [email protected] and we will come back with a quotation.
