Corrugated Flat Bottom Steel Silo With Elevator
A flat bottom silo with its own filling equipment, supplied as one package: corrugated galvanized shell, vertical stiffeners, roof, ladders and the bucket elevator that fills it.

What This Machine Does
A flat bottom silo with its own filling equipment, supplied as one package: corrugated galvanized shell, vertical stiffeners, roof, ladders and the bucket elevator that fills it. The silo ships flat packed and is bolted on a prepared foundation, which keeps ocean freight in proportion to the tonnage you will actually store.
Key Benefits
- Filling equipment and storage are engineered as one system rather than bought separately
- Flat bottom construction carries the largest capacity per tonne of steel
- Bolted assembly ships in containers instead of as a welded tank
- Sweeper auger clears the floor after gravity flow without anyone entering the silo
- Hot dip galvanized plate and sealed bolt holes hold up in humid storage climates
Problems It Solves
- Flat storage ties up floor area and needs constant turning to keep grain cool
- Manual filling and emptying costs labour every single day of storage
- Moisture enters through unsealed seams and roof joints in tropical climates
- Welded tanks cost more to ship than the steel inside them is worth
Who It Is For
- Grain traders and storage terminals
- Rice and flour mills holding raw material
- Feed plants storing maize and soybean
- Cooperatives consolidating member deliveries
Application Scenarios
- Harvest intake storage at a trading yard where trucks arrive faster than they can be processed
- Paddy or maize buffer in front of a milling plant
- Long term grain storage where the alternative is a flat warehouse and a labour crew
- Storage batteries built in stages as the business grows
Technical Features
- Corrugated sidewall sheets rolled from hot dip galvanized plate with standard connecting holes
- Vertical stiffeners applied evenly around the shell to carry the vertical friction load
- Trapezoidal roof geometry for strength and stiffness with a sealed sidewall connection
- Bucket elevator filling, with flow pipes or pneumatic pipelines as alternatives
- Sweeper auger that starts automatically once gravity flow has finished and cleans through 360 degrees
Corrugated Flat Bottom Steel Silo With Elevator Model Table
Figures below are taken from the TITAN model sheets. Where a figure depends on the crop or the contamination level it is stated that way rather than averaged.
| Item | Specification |
|---|---|
| Construction | Bolted corrugated hot dip galvanized sheets with vertical stiffeners |
| Zinc coating | 275 g/m2, 300 g/m2 and 350 g/m2 plate, shell coating equivalent to 600 g/m2 |
| Steel grade | Structural galvanized steel S350GD |
| Diameter range | 2 m to 32 m, larger on request |
| Height to diameter ratio | Between 1:1.1 and 1:2 |
| Capacity per silo | 10 t to 15000 t |
| Battery capacity | 1500 t to 20000 t for flat bottom groups |
| Fittings | Repair door, outside ladder with guard rings, access door, sweeper |
How This Machine Is Built
Quality Control
- Zinc coating weight specified on the plate, not left as a general galvanized claim
- Connecting holes sealed with age resistant and waterproof daub belts of aviation grade
- High strength bolts used with round galvanized steel washers at every joint
- Roof to sidewall connection sealed to keep stored product away from moisture
- Erection supervised through the bolting sequence by TITAN engineers
Materials And Wear Parts
- Hot dip galvanized steel plate 275 to 350 g/m2
- Structural galvanized steel S350GD
- High strength bolts with galvanized steel washers
- Waterproof aviation grade daub belt
Customisation Options
- Diameter and eave height set from the capacity and the plot
- Heat retaining layer for insulated grain storage
- Moisture and heat monitoring and control system
- Broken grain reduction device on the filling route
- Battery layout in linear, triangular, square, single row or multi row groups
Use Guide
- Confirm crop, bulk density and the daily fill and discharge rate before fixing the diameter
- Prepare the foundation to the drawing and check setting out before the first ring is lifted
- Follow the bolting sequence and fit the sealing belt at every hole
- Run the sweeper only after gravity flow has stopped
- Inspect roof seals and ladder fixings before each storage season
How It Compares With The Alternatives
| Flat warehouse storage | Mechanical filling and discharge instead of a labour crew, and far less floor area per tonne. |
|---|---|
| Welded steel silo | Bolted sheets ship flat packed, so freight is paid on steel rather than on enclosed air. |
| Cone bottom silo | More capacity for the same plot, at the cost of needing a sweeper to finish the discharge. |
Corrugated Flat Bottom Steel Silo With Elevator Questions
What capacity does this silo cover?
Flat bottom batteries run from 1500 t to 20000 t, and a single silo holds between 10 t and 15000 t depending on diameter and height.
Can the elevator be sized separately from the silo?
Yes. The elevator is selected from your required fill rate, and the same package can include chain conveyors and gates for the discharge route.
What foundation does it need?
Under 12 m diameter a cement cone base gives automatic gravity discharge. Above 12 m a half cone or flat base is built and the sweeper finishes the job.
How is the silo protected against rain?
Hot dip galvanized plate, a sealed trapezoidal roof and waterproof daub belts at every bolt hole, with galvanized washers under the bolt heads.
Do you supervise the erection?
Yes. TITAN provides supervision of the mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning with site or remote training.
How does the silo ship?
Flat packed in containers as sheets, stiffeners, roof panels, ladders, bolts, washers and sealing belts packed per silo.
