What The Site Needed
Warehouse storage tied up floor area and labour, and the grain had to be turned to keep it cool. The site needed storage that could be filled and emptied mechanically and extended later without rebuilding the handling route.

- Manual handling into and out of flat storage
- Moisture pick up through an unsealed building envelope
- No way to discharge the last tonnes without entering the store
- Freight cost of importing welded storage tanks
What Was Supplied
Corrugated flat bottom silos in hot dip galvanized steel, erected as a battery around a central bucket elevator tower with roof conveying. Sheets, stiffeners and bolts shipped flat packed in containers and were bolted on a prepared foundation on site.

Manufacturing Process
- Sidewall sheets rolled to corrugation from hot dip galvanized plate and punched to standard hole pattern
- Vertical stiffeners applied evenly around the shell to carry the vertical friction load
- Roof panels formed to the trapezoidal geometry and sealed against the sidewall
- Ladders roll formed with stamped rungs, guard rings and access doors prepared per silo
Shipping And Sequencing
Flat packed shipment by container kept freight in proportion to the stored tonnage, with bolts, washers and sealing belts packed per silo so nothing had to be sourced locally during erection.
Quality ControlChecks That Were Made
Zinc coating specified between 275 g/m2 and 600 g/m2, bolt holes sealed with age resistant waterproof daub belts and galvanized washers, and the erection supervised through the bolting sequence.
What The Plant Got
A mechanised storage battery filled by bucket elevator and discharged by gravity, with the sweeper auger clearing the floor at the end of each discharge.

Storage that works without a labour crew inside the bin, and a layout that can take further silos in the same row.
