Optical Sorter Assembly And Run Test Before Shipment

A batch of chute type optical sorters built for grain and food processors ordering through TITAN agents in several markets.

The Challenge

What The Site Needed

Sorters commissioned for the first time on a customer's site absorb days of support. The machines had to arrive with their optics, ejectors and control software already proven.

Customer Pain Points

  • First start up problems discovered thousands of kilometres from the factory
  • Ejector response drifting between machines of the same model
  • Operators facing an unfamiliar interface on day one
  • Air supply on site sized without reference to the machine's consumption figure
Our Solution

What Was Supplied

Machines were assembled in line on the workshop floor, wired, loaded with the sorting software and run tested before packing. Air consumption and pressure figures for each model were issued with the machine so the customer could size the compressor before arrival.

Fabrication

Manufacturing Process

  • Cabinet, chute and feeder assembly on the production line
  • Camera and lighting alignment for the sorting channel
  • Ejector bank fitted and response checked against the control board
  • Software loaded and the sorting modes configured for the ordered product
Supply Chain

Shipping And Sequencing

Ejectors and spare blocks packed with each machine, with foam lined cartons for single blocks and plywood cases for commercial quantities.

Quality Control

Checks That Were Made

Each machine run tested on product before packing, with the touch screen interface, alarms and machine status reporting checked as part of the test.

Result

What The Plant Got

Machines that arrive configured, with saved sorting modes and a documented air demand.

Customer Benefit

Why It Matters Day To Day

Commissioning time on site drops to installation, air connection and a product specific adjustment instead of a full setup.
