A processing plant that needed elevated discharge into trucks and into the process line below the silos. The client is not named at their request.

What The Site Needed

The site wanted complete gravity discharge without a sweeper, and the silos had to stand high enough for a truck to load underneath.

What Was Supplied

Cone bottom silos set on concrete supports, with the cone angle giving complete gravity discharge and enough clearance for outloading underneath. Erection sequenced with the civil contractor so that foundation curing and steel delivery did not collide.

Corrugated galvanized sheets pressed to shape and punched with standard connecting holes
High strength bolts with galvanized washers used through the shell joints
Cone and support structure fabricated to the foundation drawing
Access ladders, guard rings and inspection doors fitted per silo

Shipping And Sequencing

Steel delivered in erection sequence so the crane time on site was used on continuous lifts rather than on waiting for the next container.

Quality Control

Checks That Were Made

Foundation setting out checked against the shell drawing before the first ring was lifted, and the bolt pattern and sealing inspected ring by ring during erection.
