Understanding This Defect
When your feldspar or nepheline supplier delivers material with varying chemistry between batches — Fe2O3 swinging from 0.12% to 0.28%, total alkali from 12% to 15%, particle size distribution shifting — every downstream quality parameter is affected: fired color varies, water absorption fluctuates, shrinkage changes, glaze fit shifts, and defect rates spike.
