A clip for Stentex stenter frames. Stentex is one of the German stenter brands still in service in finishing plants, and original wear parts for it can be harder to obtain than for the current mainstream brands.
The clip works the way any stenter clip does: open at the infeed, the knife closes on the cloth as it enters, and the clip reopens at the end of the machine. Clip stentering leaves the cloth edges relatively flat, which is why it is used for thicker fabrics.
