General Machining Job Shops
Job shops take whatever work comes through the door, which means their equipment has to cover a wide range rather than do one thing perfectly. XAIMC supplies the turning milling drilling grinding and sawing machines that make up a working shop.
What Goes Wrong in This Work
- Work turned away because the lathe is one size too small
- No grinding capacity, so every hardened or close-tolerance job goes out and comes back late
- Stock cutting on an inadequate saw slows every machine behind it
- Tooling and workholding sourced from three suppliers with three lead times
What the Workshop Actually Needs
- A capacity ladder across turning and milling rather than a single machine size
- In-house grinding so the last operation is not outsourced
- Workholding and tooling from the same supplier as the machines

General Machining Job Shops Questions
Can you quote a complete shop rather than individual machines?
Yes. Send us the range of parts you expect to make — biggest diameter, longest shaft, heaviest plate — and we will put a machine list against it.
Manual or CNC for a starting shop?
Manual machines cover mixed one-off work at lower cost and are easier to staff. CNC starts to pay once you are repeating the same part in batches.
Do you supply tooling with the machines?
Standard tooling and workholding ship with the machine. We manufacture chucks vises and collet systems ourselves.
