What This Machine Does
The BVB25 puts turning, milling and drilling on one base, so a small workshop can make and repair parts without buying three machines or finding floor space for them. As a lathe it swings 250mm over the bed, with 450mm between centres on the BVB25 and 700mm on the long-bed BVB25L, and the spindle has an MT4 taper with a 27mm bore. Bed ways are precision ground and hardened and the spindle is carried on precision roller bearings, so the machine holds size rather than drifting as the carriage wears. Headstock gears are steel, ground and hardened, and speed changes are made on levers rather than by moving belts, over six steps from 115 to 1620rpm. The gearbox provides various feeds and cuts threads from 0.2 to 3.5mm metric and 8 to 56 T.P.I. inch. The 750W machine can be supplied with or without a cabinet, and weighs 151kg net.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Turning milling and drilling on one machine so a small shop needs one footprint not three
- Precision ground and hardened bed ways keep the carriage accurate over time
- Spindle on precision roller bearings for steady running across 115 to 1620rpm
- Six-step lever speed change instead of moving belts between jobs
- Thread cutting 0.2 to 3.5mm metric and 8 to 56 T.P.I. inch on the gearbox
- BVB25L extends to 700mm between centres for longer shaft work
- MT4 spindle taper with 27mm bore takes bar work through the spindle
- Supplied with or without a cabinet according to how you want to install it
Where BVB25 3in1 Multipurpose Milling Drilling Machine Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- Buying separate lathe mill and drill takes three machines' worth of floor space and budget
- Moving a part between machines loses the setup and introduces alignment error
- Soft bed ways wear at the chuck end and the machine loses its accuracy
- Belt changes for every speed slow down a job with several operations
- Repair parts with unusual threads cannot be bought and must be cut
- Long shafts do not fit machines with short beds
Who It Is For
- Maintenance and repair workshops making their own parts
- Small fabrication shops needing occasional turning and milling
- Technical schools and training centres
- Distributors supplying compact workshop machine tools in export markets
Application Scenarios
- Turning a shaft then milling a keyway on the same setup in a maintenance shop
- Drilling and tapping a bracket after turning a spigot on it
- Cutting metric or inch threads for a repair part that cannot be bought
- Making small production batches in a workshop with no dedicated machine shop
- Training work in a technical school covering turning milling and drilling
- Long shaft work up to 700mm between centres on the BVB25L

How It Is Built and What Can Be Changed
Operations Performed
- Turning
- Milling
- Drilling
- Thread cutting
Quality Control
- Bed way hardness and ground finish checked before assembly
- Spindle run-out measured at the MT4 nose
- All six spindle speed steps verified across the 115 to 1620rpm range
- Thread pitches test cut and compared against the metric and inch charts
- Machine run in and a test part turned milled and drilled before packing
Customisation Options
- BVB25 at 450mm or BVB25L at 700mm between centres according to your longest work
- Supplied with or without a cabinet as you prefer to install it
- Chuck vice and cutter package quoted with the machine
- Supply voltage and frequency set for your market for the 750W motor
- Manual prepared in your working language
How It Compares With the Alternatives
| BV20-1 manual small bench lathe | The BV20-1 is a lathe only with a 220mm swing; the BVB25 adds milling and drilling and swings 250mm with an MT4 spindle |
|---|---|
| HQ800 multi purpose drilling milling machine | The HQ800 gives a larger 420mm swing and 800mm between centres; the BVB25 is the smaller 151kg machine for a bench or light cabinet installation |
| Buying separate lathe mill and drill | Three machines need three footprints and three budgets, and the part has to be reset between them; the BVB25 does all three from one base |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Install the machine on a solid bench or on the cabinet stand and level it
Step 2
Mount work in the chuck within the 250mm swing and 450 or 700mm between centres
Step 3
Select a spindle speed on the levers from the six steps between 115 and 1620rpm
Step 4
Turn and face using the 140mm cross slide travel
Step 5
Set the gearbox for the feed or the thread pitch you need
Step 6
Switch to the milling head for keyways and flats on the same workpiece
Step 7
Use the MT3 tailstock quill for drilling on centre
