Sheet Metal Fabrication

Sheet metal shops cut, bend, roll and form. XAIMC supplies shears press brakes plate rolls tube benders and fibre laser cutting across the manual to CNC range.

Pain Points

What Goes Wrong in This Work

  • Edges cut out of square at the shear cost brake time to correct
  • Bend angles that vary part to part show up as gaps at assembly
  • Rolled shells with flat sections at the seam fight the welder
  • Punch tooling for every new profile makes short runs uneconomic

What the Workshop Actually Needs

  • Cutting and bending capacities that match across the shop
  • Repeatable bend positions once batch sizes grow
  • A route to complex profiles without tooling investment
Workflow

The Process These Machines Support

Cut

Guillotine shears for straight cuts, fibre laser for profiles that would otherwise need tooling

Punch and form

Open type and hydraulic presses for holes and formed features

Bend

Manual folders electric folders and hydraulic or CNC press brakes depending on repeatability needed

Roll

Pyramid plate rolls for cylinders and conical sections

Tube work

CNC tube bending for handrail frames and structural tube

Finish

Laser cleaning to remove rust and coating before coating or welding

Delivery

How We Supply It

  • Shear and brake specified together so cutting length and bending length match
  • Standard punch and die sets supplied with press brakes
  • Tube bending tooling specified to your diameter wall and radius

FAQ

Sheet Metal Fabrication Questions

Should I buy the shear or the press brake first?

Whichever is causing rework now. A shop with a good brake and a bad shear spends brake time correcting edges; the other way round, parts bend badly from square blanks.

When does a fibre laser replace shearing and punching?

When your profiles change often. Laser needs no tooling per profile, so short mixed runs stop being expensive.

How do I specify a press brake and shear together?

Give us the largest sheet you handle and the thickest material in your hardest grade. We size both machines from the same figures so they match.
