Galvanized iron wire. Hot dipped galvanizing gives the heavier zinc layer and the longer life outdoors; electric galvanizing gives a thinner, more even coating and a cleaner surface. Galvanizing before weaving keeps the wire straight and the weave tight; galvanizing after weaving seals the crossing points.
Quality Control
Mesh count and aperture are checked across the roll width, not only at the edge, because a slack selvedge shows up as oversize aperture in service. For sieving duty, confirm the aperture tolerance you need at order stage.
