What This Machine Does
The FD series folds sheet metal under electric drive, so the folding beam is brought up by the machine rather than by the operator swinging a handle all day. That changes what a folding shop can take on: longer runs of ducting, GI plate and stainless panels can be folded at a steady rate without the fold quality drifting as the operator tires. The frame is heavy duty steel fabricated so the bend stays accurate across the clamped length, and ground segmented fingers can be repositioned to suit pans, boxes and awkward returns. Extended fingers allow box and pan depth to 200mm. Graduation rulers on both sides of the machine give a direct readout of the bend angle instead of the operator guessing and checking. Beam adjustment is quick action for changes in material thickness, a safety top beam support stop lever is fitted on the right-hand side, and a rear manual back gauge is included for repeat flange widths.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Electric folding drive keeps the fold rate steady through long production runs
- Heavy duty steel fabricated frame holds the fold line accurate across the clamped length
- Ground segmented fingers reposition for pans boxes and returns without changing the machine
- Extended fingers give box and pan folding to a depth of 200mm
- Graduation rulers on both sides remove bend angle guesswork
- Quick action beam adjustment handles changes of material thickness between jobs
- Rear manual back gauge repeats flange widths across a batch
Where FD Series Electric Type Folding Machine Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- Hand folding slows and becomes inconsistent over a long shift
- Fixed fingers block the fourth fold when closing a box or pan
- Bend angles judged by eye need rework after checking
- Thickness changes between jobs eat setup time on screw-adjusted beams
- Repeat flange widths drift without a back gauge to work from
Who It Is For
- HVAC ducting fabricators running daily production
- Stainless steel and GI sheet fabricators
- Enclosure and cabinet makers folding boxes and pans
- Distributors supplying powered folding machines to sheet metal shops
Application Scenarios
- Production folding of GI plate ducting and fittings
- Stainless steel panel and enclosure work in food and catering fabrication
- Repeat flange folding on cladding trims and flashings
- Box and pan forming for cabinets and housings up to 200mm deep
- Sheet metal shops moving off a manual folder as volume grows

How It Compares With the Alternatives
| WS series manual sheet metal bending machine | The WS folder needs no power and suits low volume or site work; the FD series adds electric drive so output does not fall away over a full shift |
|---|---|
| WC67K CNC hydraulic press brake | A CNC press brake bends in a die with programmed backgauge positions for complex parts; the FD folder clamps and folds the sheet which is quicker to set for straightforward flanges and boxes |
| Folding on a bench with hand tools | Hand work distorts the sheet near the fold line; the FD machine clamps the full length so the fold stays straight and repeatable |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Reposition the segmented fingers to clear the sides of the part
Step 2
Set the top beam with the quick action adjustment for the material thickness
Step 3
Set the rear back gauge for the flange width
Step 4
Load the sheet against the gauge and clamp it under the top beam
Step 5
Run the electric folding beam up to the angle shown on the graduation rulers
Step 6
Check the first part for angle and flange width before running the batch
Step 7
Keep the finger and beam faces clean so the sheet surface is not marked

Questions About FD Series Electric Type Folding Machine
How does the FD series differ from a manual folder?
The folding beam is driven electrically instead of by hand, which keeps the fold rate and the result consistent through long runs. The clamping fingers, angle rulers and back gauge work the same way.
Can it fold stainless steel?
Yes. It is used on stainless steel, GI plate and mild steel sheet. Send us the grade and thickness you fold and the length you need and we will confirm the model.
How deep can I fold a box?
The extended fingers allow pans and boxes to a depth of 200mm.
What supply voltage is the machine built for?
Tell us your voltage, phases and frequency with the order and the machine will be wired and tested for that supply.
How do I set the bend angle?
The graduation rulers on both sides of the machine show the angle as the beam comes up, so the operator folds to the reading rather than checking with a square afterwards.
What are your trade and payment terms?
FOB CFR and CIF. Payment is 30 percent by T/T on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.
What is the lead time and how is it packed?
Machines are packed for sea freight from our storehouse in Xi'an. Send us the model and quantity and we will confirm lead time and shipping dimensions with the quotation.
