Main Shaft Assembly
Complete main shaft assemblies supplied to European customers
What This Casting Does And Why It Matters
The main shaft carries the head and takes the crushing load through the eccentric. It is not a consumable, which is precisely why sourcing one is difficult when a machine is already down. PangLei has supplied complete main shaft assemblies to European customers — including part number B962S3000A/V — cast, machined and inspected in-house and supplied as an assembly rather than as loose components.
Technical Features
- Alloy steel of various grades to suit the machine
- Machined strictly to drawing for correct fitment
- Non-destructive testing available on request
- Assembly checked dimensionally before despatch

What You Get That You Would Not Get Elsewhere
Supplied as a complete assembly rather than a set of parts to fit
Machined in-house on gantry mills and vertical lathes
Ultrasonic and dye penetrant inspection available on a structural casting
Already supplied to European customers under real part numbers
The Failures This Part Is Cast To Prevent
- A structural part with no realistic aftermarket source
- Assemblies supplied as loose components that then need fitting
- No inspection documentation on a load-bearing part
- Machines out of service waiting on an OEM shaft
Who It Is For
- Cone crusher owners facing a shaft failure
- Rebuild workshops overhauling crusher heads
- Dealers supporting an installed base of machines
- Mining operations holding critical spares
Application Scenarios
- Crusher head overhaul
- Emergency replacement after a shaft failure
- Critical spares holding for high-value plant
- Rebuilds of discontinued machines

How This Casting Is Made
Pattern Making
Once drawings are confirmed, pattern making starts immediately in our own pattern shop. Thousands of finished patterns are already on the shelf, so repeat parts skip this step entirely.
Sandbox Making
Casting Process Simulation System (CPSS) is run before the moulds are made. The cavity is kept as solid and as clean as possible so that inclusions have nowhere to start.
Melting And Pouring
Charge materials are bought to a high standard and temperature is controlled through the whole pour to achieve a fine grain structure. Samples are taken to verify the analysis and adjusted if needed, then kept for at least three years for traceability.
Sandbox Opening
Also called casting cleaning. After initial cooling the box is opened, risers and runners are removed and the casting is cleaned. Cooling time is set by casting size, not by the clock.
Heat Treatment
Heating temperature is strictly controlled and castings are spaced in the furnace so they heat uniformly and meet the water fully. Quenching begins within 30 seconds of withdrawal from the oven.
Machining
After rectifying and polishing, castings are machined strictly to drawing for correct fitment. QC then carries out dimensional inspection and issues the dimensional inspection report.
Inspection
Our own physical and chemical laboratory covers spectrometry, hardness, microstructure, dye penetrant and dimensional inspection on site rather than at a third party.
Packing And Delivery
Finished parts are packed on steel pallets for forklift handling, to international standards for road, rail, sea and air transport.
Inspection Supplied With This Part
Chemical analysis and a dimensional inspection report are standard on every order. The remaining procedures are carried out in our own physical and chemical laboratory when specified at order stage.

| Hardness Testing | if specified |
| Tensile Testing | if specified |
| Microstructure Analysis | if specified |
| Magnetic Particle Testing | if specified |
| Dye Penetrant Testing | if specified |
| Ultrasonic Testing | if specified |

How This Part Compares With The Alternatives
| Compared With | What Changes |
|---|---|
| Sourcing loose components | An assembly arrives checked and ready, rather than as parts that still have to be matched and fitted. |
| An unverified used shaft | Ours is a new casting with chemical analysis, dimensional inspection and optional ultrasonic testing on record. |
| Waiting for OEM supply | We work from your drawing or from a 3D scan of the existing shaft, which is often faster on an older machine. |
If Your Part Is Not Standard
With our own pattern shop, a 3D scanner and Casting Process Simulation System, we work from your drawing, your worn sample, or a scan taken on your site. Material grade, profile and machining are all specified against your machine rather than against a catalogue.
- Reverse engineering from a worn part, with no drawing required
- On-site 3D scanning where the component cannot be removed
- Material grade selected against your feed rather than a default
- Pattern retained afterwards, so repeat orders skip pattern making
Fitting And Getting The Life Out Of It
- Supply the machine model and the original part number with the enquiry
- Confirm bearing and sleeve dimensions before ordering
- Specify any non-destructive testing required at order stage
- Inspect the eccentric and bushings while the shaft is out

Main Shaft Assembly Questions
Have you actually supplied a complete main shaft assembly?
Yes. Part number B962S3000A/V was supplied as a main shaft assembly to a customer in Europe.
What testing can you provide on a structural casting?
Ultrasonic, magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing are available if specified, in addition to the standard chemical and dimensional reports.
Can you work from the worn shaft?
Yes. We 3D scan the part and build the pattern and machining programme from the scan.
Do you supply bushings and sleeves to match?
Yes. Shaft sleeves and bushings are part of the cone spares range and are quoted with the assembly.
