Shaft Sleeves And Bushings
Bearing surfaces machined to the fit the crusher was designed around
What This Casting Does And Why It Matters
Sleeves and bushings set the running clearances inside a cone crusher. A few tenths of a millimetre in the wrong direction changes the eccentric throw, the oil film and the temperature the machine runs at. PangLei supplies shaft sleeves and bushings machined in-house on the same equipment used for our liner ranges, to the fit specified on your drawing rather than to a nominal size.
Technical Features
- Machined on vertical lathes and gantry mills in-house
- Materials to suit the bearing duty specified
- Dimensional inspection on our own measuring equipment
- Supplied protected for transport

What You Get That You Would Not Get Elsewhere
Machined to the drawing fit, not to a nominal diameter
Made in the same works that cast and machines the rest of the cone package
Dimensional inspection report issued before despatch
Available with main shaft assemblies as a matched set
The Failures This Part Is Cast To Prevent
- Clearances that run hot because the sleeve was made to a nominal size
- Bushings sourced separately from the shaft and not matching it
- No dimensional record supplied with a precision part
- Obsolete sizes no longer stocked
Who It Is For
- Crusher rebuild workshops
- Maintenance teams overhauling cone crushers
- Dealers supporting older machines
- Plants holding critical spares
Application Scenarios
- Cone crusher overhauls
- Bearing replacement after a running temperature problem
- Rebuilds of discontinued machines
- Critical spares holding

How This Casting Is Made
Pattern Making
Once drawings are confirmed, pattern making starts immediately in our own pattern shop. Thousands of finished patterns are already on the shelf, so repeat parts skip this step entirely.
Sandbox Making
Casting Process Simulation System (CPSS) is run before the moulds are made. The cavity is kept as solid and as clean as possible so that inclusions have nowhere to start.
Melting And Pouring
Charge materials are bought to a high standard and temperature is controlled through the whole pour to achieve a fine grain structure. Samples are taken to verify the analysis and adjusted if needed, then kept for at least three years for traceability.
Sandbox Opening
Also called casting cleaning. After initial cooling the box is opened, risers and runners are removed and the casting is cleaned. Cooling time is set by casting size, not by the clock.
Heat Treatment
Heating temperature is strictly controlled and castings are spaced in the furnace so they heat uniformly and meet the water fully. Quenching begins within 30 seconds of withdrawal from the oven.
Machining
After rectifying and polishing, castings are machined strictly to drawing for correct fitment. QC then carries out dimensional inspection and issues the dimensional inspection report.
Inspection
Our own physical and chemical laboratory covers spectrometry, hardness, microstructure, dye penetrant and dimensional inspection on site rather than at a third party.
Packing And Delivery
Finished parts are packed on steel pallets for forklift handling, to international standards for road, rail, sea and air transport.
Inspection Supplied With This Part
Chemical analysis and a dimensional inspection report are standard on every order. The remaining procedures are carried out in our own physical and chemical laboratory when specified at order stage.

How This Part Compares With The Alternatives
| Compared With | What Changes |
|---|---|
| Generic bushings | Made to your drawing fit, with the dimensional record to prove it, rather than to a catalogue nominal size. |
| Buying sleeves separately from the shaft | Ordered together they are machined as a matched pair, so the clearance is set in our works rather than on your floor. |
| Reusing a worn sleeve | Worn clearances change the eccentric throw and the oil film, and the cost lands on the bearings rather than the sleeve. |
If Your Part Is Not Standard
With our own pattern shop, a 3D scanner and Casting Process Simulation System, we work from your drawing, your worn sample, or a scan taken on your site. Material grade, profile and machining are all specified against your machine rather than against a catalogue.
- Reverse engineering from a worn part, with no drawing required
- On-site 3D scanning where the component cannot be removed
- Material grade selected against your feed rather than a default
- Pattern retained afterwards, so repeat orders skip pattern making
Fitting And Getting The Life Out Of It
- Supply the drawing or the measured fit with the enquiry
- Measure the mating shaft before ordering, not after
- Check the dimensional inspection report against your own measurement on arrival
- Replace sleeves and bushings as a set during an overhaul

Shaft Sleeves And Bushings Questions
Can you make a bushing without a drawing?
We need either a drawing or the worn part to measure. For bearing fits we will not work from photographs alone.
Do you supply these with main shaft assemblies?
Yes, and that is the usual way they are ordered, so the fit is set in our works.
What inspection is supplied?
A dimensional inspection report from our own inspection equipment.
Which materials do you use?
This is confirmed against the specific application at quotation, since the bearing duty decides it.
