Vertical shaft impactors — sand-making machines — sit at the end of the crushing circuit, so when the rotor wear package runs out the whole plant stops shaping product. We cast feed tubes, trail plates, cavity wear plates, distributor plates, rotor tips, upper and lower wear plates and the bolts that hold them, and we keep finished VSI parts on the shelf so an order placed on a Thursday can be collected the following Monday.

How fast can you ship VSI parts?
We keep finished VSI parts in stock. On one recent European order the customer confirmed on 18 July and their agent collected from our warehouse on 21 July.
Should the whole rotor wear package be changed at once?
It usually should. Mixing new tips with part-worn plates leaves the rotor unbalanced and the new parts wear unevenly, which is why we cast and supply the package as a set.
Do you make the rotor body itself, not only the wear parts?
Yes. Rotor bodies and frames are cast alongside the wear items for Barmac type and CV series machines.
Which material is used for rotor tips?
Rotor tips are normally cast in high chromium white iron for abrasion resistance. Where the feed carries tramp material a manganese or alloy steel option can be discussed.
