Food Waste Dryer
CRH-10 batch dryer - 80-90% weight reduction, sterile dry output
The CRH-10 food waste dryer uses heat and air circulation to drive moisture out of organic kitchen scraps, turning wet, heavy waste into a dry, sterile and lightweight material. Because organic waste carries up to 98% moisture, evaporating that water is what removes the weight and volume: what is left is only 5-15% of the original volume, rich in concentrated nutrients, free of weeds, seeds and pathogens, and stable enough to store for weeks without degrading. It is a different answer from composting - faster, simpler, and well suited to sites with limited space.

What it solves
- City-centre kitchens with no room for a composter or waste storage
- Collection charges driven by the weight of water in the waste stream
- Leachate and odour from wet waste held on site
- Waste that has to be stored for weeks before it can be moved
Key benefits
- 10 kg per cycle in a 750 x 600 x 750 mm footprint
- 80-90% weight reduction per batch
- Output is sterile and stabilised - no smell, storable for weeks
- Single 8-10 hour batch cycle, run unattended overnight
- 1.5 kW total power on 220 V/50 Hz or 110 V/50 Hz
- SUS304 stainless steel on all surfaces in contact with waste
- Universal wheels - the unit can be moved rather than built in

Who it is for
Hotels, catering operations, shopping centres and food manufacturers that need weight and volume out of the waste stream on site, in a machine that can be wheeled into place.
Where it is used
- City centre hotels and catering operations with tight back-of-house space
- Shopping centre food courts consolidating tenant waste
- Food processors and manufacturers stabilising production waste
- Sites that need a storable dry product rather than a compost output
Quality control
Heating circuit, mixing drive and control panel are tested on load before shipment, and the temperature warning is verified as part of the pre-delivery run. Contact surfaces are SUS304 throughout, which is what allows the machine to be specified for food handling areas.
Customisation
Power supply is customisable to requirement - 220 V/50 Hz and 110 V/50 Hz are standard options. IOT connectivity, integrated weighing and camera monitoring can be added at order stage for operators tracking diversion data across sites.
How it is operated
- Wheel the unit into place indoors and connect to the specified supply
- Load up to 10 kg of kitchen, food or organic waste into the bin
- Start the batch on automatic control, or run it manually
- Let the 8-10 hour cycle evaporate moisture with heat and mixing
- Remove the dry biomass - 5-15% of the original volume
- Store the output or route it to soil amendment use
How it compares
A dryer removes water; a composter decomposes. Choose CRH-10 when the goal is a light, sterile, storable product from a 10 kg batch. Choose CR-5 or CR-10 when the goal is organic fertilizer from a microbial process. Pair CRH-10 with the CRO-300S when oil and water have to come out before drying.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the CRH-10 reduce waste?
80-90% weight reduction per batch. The dry biomass left behind is 5-15% of the original volume.
How long is a cycle?
A single batch takes 8-10 hours, which is usually run overnight.
Does the output smell or rot in storage?
No. The material is sterilised and stabilised by the drying process, so it can be stored for many weeks without degrading.
Can it go in a food preparation area?
Surfaces in contact with waste are SUS304 stainless steel, and the unit is rated for indoor ambient temperatures from -10 to 50 degrees C.
What supply does it need?
1.5 kW total power on 220 V/50 Hz or 110 V/50 Hz, and the supply can be customised according to requirements.
Can we monitor it remotely?
IOT connectivity, weighing and camera are available as options.
Is the dryer an alternative to composting?
It is a different process with a different output. Drying gives a sterile, storable dry biomass; composting gives organic fertilizer. Many sites run one, some run both.
