Product Overview
The HSFE-5 is a multi-function supercritical fluid extraction system. It works in an intermittent or a continuous way to extract solvent from solid or liquid material, and an additive can be added to the supercritical fluid when the process calls for it.
The system is built around one extractor and two separators. The highest working pressure of the solid extractor is 50MPa and the highest working temperature is 85°C, which covers the pressure and temperature window used for cinnamon oil and most other botanical extractions.
Pressure vessels are designed according to the related national standard and rule demand, with an overpressure protection system, which means sufficient safety valves. Pressure, temperature and flow are shown on pressure gauges and digital instruments, and the pipe parts, valves and pipelines are all stainless steel.
Technical Features
- Multi-function SPE equipment, intermittent or continuous working mode
- One extractor and two separators
- Additive can be dosed into the supercritical fluid
- Overpressure protection system with sufficient safety valves
- Pressure, temperature and flow shown on gauges and digital instruments
- Stainless steel pipe parts, valves and pipelines
Materials And Construction
Wetted parts on the supercritical CO2 systems are stainless steel throughout: pipe parts, valves and pipelines. Laboratory vessels are borosilicate glass 3.3, also known as GG-17. Pressure vessels are designed to the related national standard and rule demand and carry an overpressure protection system with sufficient safety valves.
Manufacturing And Quality Control
- Every procedure and detail is inspected during production, which is why a supercritical CO2 machine takes about 60 workdays to build.
- Pressure vessels are designed to the related national standard and rule demand, with an overpressure protection system and sufficient safety valves.
- Machines are assembled and tested before packing, so what leaves the workshop is a machine that has already been run.
- Pressure, temperature and flow are shown on pressure gauges and digital instruments so the operator can verify the process at any point.
Customization Options
Machines are supplied from 0.5L to 200L, and a larger capacity machine can be customised according to your request. On the distillation plants the volume of the pot is built according to the demand of the customer. Better Industry also provides customised turn-key solutions covering specific extraction process parameters, engineering design, equipment manufacturing and installation.
Key Benefits
Solvent-free extract
CO2 leaves as a gas in the separator, so the cinnamon oil carries no residual solvent.
Two separators
Fractions can be dropped out separately instead of collecting everything in one vessel.
50MPa design pressure
Enough headroom to run the dense, high-pressure conditions that resinous material needs.
Stainless steel wetted parts
Pipe parts, valves and pipelines are all stainless steel.
Use Guide
- 1Load the prepared, milled botanical into the 5L extraction kettle and close the vessel.
- 2Bring the CO2 up to the working pressure and temperature set for the material, staying inside the 50MPa and 85°C limits.
- 3Circulate CO2 through the bed at a flow rate within the 0~50L/h range and hold for the extraction time set for the material.
- 4Drop the pressure across the two separators so the extract falls out and the CO2 returns to gas.
- 5Collect the extract from the separators, then recirculate the CO2 for the next cycle.
