Crushed sweet paprika with seed content at 25, 30, 40 percent or seedless
Premium paprika crushed, with great colour and a unique fruity taste. Like our paprika powder it is aimed at the meat industry, but here the paprika stays visible as flecks rather than dissolving into the product.
Colour runs 100 to 220 ASTA and moisture is 14 percent maximum. Seed content is set at 25, 30 or 40 percent, or seedless, which is the option most often taken when the flecks have to be uniformly red.
Key Benefits
Seedless is available
A seedless crush gives uniformly red flecks, which is what most meat applications want when the paprika is meant to be seen.
Seed content is specified
25, 30 or 40 percent when seeds are wanted for texture or cost.
Visible colour
Flecks at 100 to 220 ASTA rather than a uniform tint.
Same fruity character as the powder
The crushed and powder grades come from the same paprika.

The heat figure above is reproduced exactly as it was published on the previous huahespice.com. It contradicts the 100 to 300 SHU shown for every other sweet paprika item in the range, so treat it as unconfirmed and ask us for the current figure in writing before you order.

From the Field to Your Container
Grown for colour rather than heat
Paprika is picked on colour development rather than on heat, so the timing of the pick matters more than it does for a hot chili.
Dried with colour protection in mind
Paprika loses ASTA faster than a hot chili does. Drying and storage are handled to protect the colour that the lot is being sold on.
Formed to the grade you ordered
Pods are shipped whole, crushed with or without seed, milled at 60 to 80 mesh, or pressed into 4 to 5 mm pellet for extraction.
Colour verified against your target point
The lot is checked against the point in the ASTA band you bought against last time, not against the average of the harvest.
Quality Control and Certification
- Paprika lots are checked against the agreed point in the ASTA band rather than against the band itself, which is what makes colour repeat between shipments.
- Moisture is verified against the published limit of 14% max before packing.
- Seed content is cut to the figure on your order: 25%, 30%, 40% or seedless.
- Colour is confirmed inside the quoted 100-220 ASTA band against your agreed target point.
- Paprika has shipped from this plant without a food quality or safety incident since 1999, mainly to Japan, South Korea and the United States.
Use Guide
- Choose seedless when the flecks must be uniformly red.
- Add after mixing rather than before, so the flecks stay intact.
- Store sealed at 14 percent maximum moisture.
- Protect from light; crushed paprika fades faster than whole pods.
How This Compares With the Rest of the Range
| Alternative | What changes |
|---|---|
| Premium Sweet Paprika Powder | Milled at 60 to 80 mesh for even colour rather than visible flecks. |
| Crushed Chili With Seeds | The same crushed format in hot chili, at 3 to 5 mm. |
| Sweet Paprika Pods | The whole pod, 10 cm and up, if you crush in house. |

Questions About Premium Sweet Paprika Crushed
Should I buy seedless or with seeds?
Seedless if the paprika is meant to be seen as uniform red flecks. With seeds if you want texture, or to bring the cost down where appearance matters less.
How hot is sweet paprika crushed?
Sweet paprika is normally 100 to 300 SHU. The heat figure carried over from the previous site conflicts with that, so we quote heat in writing per lot rather than asking you to rely on the published range.
What colour range is available?
100 to 220 ASTA.
What is the moisture limit?
14 percent maximum.
Can you match an existing crushed paprika spec?
Yes. Send the certificate of analysis and we will quote against colour, seed content and moisture.
