Chili milled from 40 to 120 mesh across four heat steps from 1,500 to 60,000 SHU
We supply various chili powders ranging from mild to very spicy. They are used to enhance the flavour of dishes, sauces and prepared foods.
What makes this line useful to a blender is that the heat moves in published steps, 1,500, 5,000, 30,000 and 60,000 SHU, while the colour band stays at 100 to 220 ASTA and the mesh is your choice between 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120. Moisture is held below 10 percent.
Key Benefits
Heat steps, not a heat range
Four published steps from 1,500 to 60,000 SHU let you build a mild, medium and hot variant of the same product without changing supplier or colour.
Mesh is a customer choice
40, 60, 80, 100 or 120 mesh. A fine mesh dusts evenly on a snack; a coarse one stays visible in a rub.
Colour independent of heat
The 100 to 220 ASTA band applies across all four heat steps, so a hot variant does not have to look different from the mild one.
Low moisture for dry blending
Below 10 percent, which keeps a dry blend from caking in the bag.

Problems It Solves
Changing heat means changing supplier
Four heat steps come from one line and one colour band.
Mesh is whatever the mill happened to run
Mesh is specified by you at 40, 60, 80, 100 or 120.
Powder cakes in storage
Moisture held below 10 percent.
From the Field to Your Container
Pod selection sets the colour ceiling
Milling cannot add colour. The ASTA band a lot can be quoted against is decided when the pod is chosen, which is why the mill starts from graded whole pods rather than from whatever is available.
Seed and stem content set before milling
Seed percentage and stem removal are decided at this point, not corrected afterwards. Both change the apparent colour of the finished powder or flake.
Milled or cut to the specified size
Powder runs at 40, 60, 80, 100 or 120 mesh, crushed flake at 40 to 60 mesh, coarse crush at 3 to 5 mm and rings at 2 mm. The mill is set to your figure before the lot runs.
Moisture checked, then packed
Ground products are checked against their published moisture limit and packed in cartons, paper bags, woven sacks or big bags depending on how you discharge.
Quality Control and Certification
- Ground lots are checked against the mesh or cut size on the order before packing, because a mesh error cannot be corrected once the material is bagged.
- Moisture is verified against the published limit of below 10% before packing.
- Colour is confirmed inside the quoted 100-220 ASTA band against your agreed target point.
- Milled under a HACCP system certificate issued by the China Quality Certification Centre, and covered by the KOF-K kosher certificate.
- The plant has run without a food quality or safety incident since 1999, across an annual output of 3,000 to 5,000 tons of chili products.
Use Guide
- Confirm the mesh against your mixer before ordering a full lot.
- Dose by weight, not by volume; bulk density changes with mesh.
- Keep sealed; below 10 percent moisture only holds if the bag stays closed.
- Blend the hot step into a mild base rather than buying a pre-mixed middle heat.
How This Compares With the Rest of the Range
| Alternative | What changes |
|---|---|
| Crushed Chili | Flake rather than powder at 40 to 60 mesh, when the chili should stay visible. |
| Premium Sweet Paprika Powder | Colour at 100 to 220 ASTA with almost no heat, at 100 to 300 SHU, and a finer 60 to 80 mesh. |
| Red Chili Pepper Ring | A 2 mm visible cut at a fixed 18,000 to 25,000 SHU. |
