Why pellet rather than loose paprika?
Loose material compacts into a mat and blinds the bed. A pressed pellet at 4 to 5 mm with a hardness of 3 to 4 packs and flows predictably.
What is the maximum colour you can supply for extraction?
260 ASTA on paprika pellet, which is the highest band in our range. In an extract the colour is the yield, so that is where the value sits.
Does the pellet carry heat?
Very little. 100 to 300 SHU, so the extract stays a colourant rather than turning into an oleoresin capsicum.

Can you supply pods instead if our process takes them?
Yes. Sweet paprika pods at 10 cm and up, 100 to 220 ASTA, with broken below 3 percent and loose seed below 2 percent.
