Weifang Huahe Food Co., Ltd

A chili processor with its own plantation, not a trading company with a warehouse.

What the Company Does

Weifang Huahe Food Co., Ltd was founded in 1999 and is located in Ta’erpu Industrial Zone, Changyi City, Shandong Province. The company uses agricultural and sideline products as its main raw materials, and processes, exports and sells them domestically as well as trading agricultural imports and exports.

The main products are dried red chili in both large-pod and small-pod series; crushed chili in various specifications and heat levels; chili powder in various specifications and heat levels; and condiments including pepper, pimento, star anise, garlic slice and ginger slice together with powder versions of those.

An advanced production line produces crushed chili and chili powder at 3,000 to 5,000 tons a year. More than 90 percent of it is exported. There has been no food quality or safety accident, and product quality has been praised by customers abroad.

Guajillo, known locally as Jinta chili, ripening in the field. Variety is agreed with growers before planting.

Our Own Plantation in Xinjiang

The company has its own chili plantation in Xinjiang Province. We manage that plantation ourselves from breeding, through field management, to collection. Pesticide residues completely accord with the standard of the Japanese Positive List System.

Beyond the plantation, long-term stable supply relationships with tens of thousands of growing households and with several large chili plantations in Shandong, Shanxi, Henan and Sichuan mean a variety can be organised in a short time rather than only in its home province.

The business principle the company states is honesty, mutual cooperation and wholehearted service; the purpose, respecting customers and providing the best service; the model, self-production and self-sale.

Figures We Are Re-Confirming Before Publishing

The previous website contradicted itself in a few places. Rather than pick whichever number sounded better, those items are listed here and left off the rest of the site until they are confirmed.

  • Headcount. The old About page said 140 staff including 3 research personnel and 4 engineers; the Our Service page said 220 employees and 42 middle and senior technicians. No headcount is published on the new site until the correct figure is confirmed.
  • Address. The old About page said Ta'erpu Industrial Zone, Changyi City; the Our Service page said Talbao Industrial Park, Beimeng Town, Changyi City. The new site uses Ta'erpu Industrial Zone, Changyi City and needs the street line confirmed.
  • Export start year. The old About page said founded 1999 but also said 'specialised in chili products processing and export since 1996'. The new site uses 1999 only.
  • Sweet paprika crushed heat. The old product page listed 100-80,000 SHU for Premium Sweet Paprika Crushed, which contradicts the 100-300 SHU shown for every other sweet paprika item. Published as-is with a note and flagged for correction.
  • Kosher certificate. A 2018 news item announced a KOF-K kosher certificate. No certificate image was published, so the Certificates page shows only the HACCP certificate and mentions kosher as text.
  • Certificate validity. The HACCP certificate image published on the old site carries no legible expiry date at the resolution supplied. Current validity should be confirmed before the site goes live.
  • Guajillo description. The old site truncated the Guajillo description mid-sentence ('dark, reddish brown, leat...'). The new page stops at the last complete clause.
  • Chili ring shelf life. The old Red Chili Pepper Ring page truncated at 'Shelf L...'. Shelf life is shown as TBC.
  • Second email address. [email protected] appears on the old site alongside [email protected]. Only [email protected] is used for site-wide CTAs; confirm whether the 126.com box is still live.
  • Fax number. The old footer printed 'Fax:' with no number. No fax is published.
