LXK Zero Sequence Split Core Current Transformer

A ground fault does not show up on a phase CT until it is large. A zero sequence core sees the vector sum of all three phases, so it catches the leakage current that is on its way to becoming a fault.

Product Overview

The dry type current transformers LXZK0111-80 are cast in epoxy resin insulated with a big surface creepage distance and are excellent in anti pollution and humidity protection.

With a high grade accuracy it is suitable for protection against large short circuit current, with a secondary current output of 1 A or 5 A. The performance of the products meets IEC 60044-1, IEC 61869-2 and ANSI/IEEE C57.13.

Questions Buyers Ask

What is a zero sequence current transformer?

A single core through which all three phase conductors pass. Under healthy conditions the vector sum of the three currents is zero and the secondary sees nothing. When current escapes to earth the sum is no longer zero, and the core produces an output the relay can act on.

Why the 12/42/75 kV insulation level?

The three figures are the rated voltage, the power frequency withstand and the lightning impulse withstand, which together define how much insulation margin the cast resin body has.

Is it a split core?

Yes, which is what makes it practical on cables that are already terminated.
