Questions Buyers Ask
Can a normal current transformer measure DC?
No. A current transformer works by electromagnetic induction and needs a changing current. For DC, use either a DC current sensor like this one or a calibrated shunt from the DIN 43703 range.
What ranges are available?
The two published frames are SCT010TS-D and SCT024TS-D. Send the current, the output the logger expects and the conductor size and an engineer will confirm the part.
Shunt or DC split core sensor?
A shunt is the cheaper and more accurate route where the circuit can be broken once during installation. A DC split core sensor is the answer where it cannot.
