SCT Clamp Split Core Current Transformer
Maximum continuous primary current 5 A to 120 A
Secondary turns 3000, or per customer datasheet
A 0.1 % clamp with a high nickel content core and a 40 Hz to 20 MHz frequency range. Built for power quality work where phase shift matters as much as magnitude, on conductors up to 50 mm.
In electrical and electronic engineering, a split type current transformer is a device with jaws which open to allow clamping around an electrical conductor. This allows measurement of the current in a conductor without the need to make physical contact with it, or to disconnect it for insertion through the probe.
The round jaw design on the JW series along with the high content nickel metal core makes them well suited to power quality applications where high accuracy and low phase shift along with wide frequency are important. Measurement range is 1 mA to 1200 A.
The JW is a general purpose 1000 A AC current clamp designed for use with DMMs, loggers and other instruments that have a current input. It has a 1000:1 ratio and an output of 1 mA per amp or 1 mV per amp measured in the jaw, with an integral 2.5 m lead.

Power is the product of voltage and current with the angle between them. A clamp with 1° of phase error will report real power wrongly even when the magnitude is right, which is why the JW is specified down to 0.1° above 100 A.
Match the instrument input: 333 mV and 1 V suit most loggers and analysers, 1 mA/A suits DMMs, and 1 A or 5 A suit conventional panel instruments.
50 mm maximum jaw opening, which accommodates conductors up to two 500 kcmil.
The clamp conforms to EN 61010, 600 V CAT III, with a maximum of 600 V on non insulated conductors.
