Product Overview
The DBP series current transformer has been specially designed to make installation easy in new or existing networks. They may be installed without opening any cable or busbar circuit.
The connection of conventional CTs usually requires the interruption of the primary side circuit to pass cables or busbars through the transformer core, or to connect such cables to the primary terminals. The DBP series transformer core may be easily opened, and the unit installed and connected without any supply interruption, saving time and installation cost.

Can a DBP be fitted without shutting the circuit down?
That is the reason the family exists. The core opens, is placed around the existing cable or busbar and closes again, so the primary circuit is never broken and the plant keeps running.
What window sizes are available?
The DBP23 frame takes a 20 × 30 mm busbar window; larger frames follow the range up to 5000 A primary. Send the busbar or cable dimension and we will confirm the frame.
Does a split core lose accuracy against a solid core?
A split core has a mating face in the magnetic circuit, so a solid core will always be the more accurate of the two at the same size. Where billing accuracy matters, specify a solid core high accuracy body such as ABO; where retrofitting without an outage matters, specify DBP.
How is it fixed in the panel?
Two fixing methods are built into the body: base mounting and busbar mounting.
