CHY400 Hydraulic Cold Welder for 8.0 mm Copper Rod
The CHY400 is the machine a rod breakdown mill reaches for when the section has outgrown a bench welder. It is designed for rectangular strip as well as wire, runs on a 5.5 kW motor at 6.5 MPa working pressure, and is built heavy enough at 660 kg that the dies stay square while the metal upsets.

Use Guide
How It Is Set Up and Run
- Fit the die pair cut for the rod section being welded.
- Set working pressure to 6.5 MPa and confirm oil temperature is below 75 °C.
- Load both rod ends into the cavity so the faces meet inside the die.
- Cycle the press, then shear the flash in the same die set.
- Pull-test the first joint of each batch — a sound weld breaks in the parent rod.

Dies to Your Wire
Dies are manufactured for wire between 0.10 mm and 25.0 mm to suit round or profile wire and rod, to the customer's own specification, at -1% / +2% of the wire diameter.
Your Electrical Supply
On the motorised and hydraulic machines, operating voltage is built to the industrial supply of the destination country. State voltage, phase and frequency with the order.
Export Packing
Machines are packed in a strong wooden or plywood case as stated per model. Carry cases are supplied with the portable welders and the DA10.
