The Workflow
Five Steps From Problem to Running Line
- SpecifyGive both wire diameters and both materials — special dies are cut to weld two different sizes together.
- SelectUnder 1.30 mm a portable welder does it; to 4.50 mm a desk welder; above that the CHY hydraulic range.
- DieThe cavity is cut to -1% / +2% of each wire, single or double cavity depending on the size.
- WeldPressure alone upsets both metals into a solid-phase joint. No flux, no filler, no intermetallic from a braze.
- CheckA sound joint breaks in the parent metal. If it opens at the interface the cavity has lost tolerance.

How long does this take to put in place
The machines and dies are standard products, so the schedule is set by die manufacture for your wire sizes and by the voltage build on motorised machines. Both are confirmed on quotation.
Do we have to change every machine at once
No. The usual route is one size, one block or one line first. Record the current die change frequency and joint failure rate, then compare on the same wire.
What do you need from us to quote this
The wire materials and diameters, the section shape, the machines already on the floor, and the electrical supply. Everything else follows from that.
Can dies be made for machines we already own
Yes. SGT welding dies are the industry standard type and are suitable for comparable cold pressure welders from other manufacturers.
