What This Machine Does
The TX series is a vertical fine boring and milling machine used mainly to bore accurate holes in cylinder bodies and engine sleeves, and other accurate holes of the same kind. It also mills the cylinder surface, so a block can be bored and decked on the same machine without a second setup elsewhere in the shop. The machine performs boring, milling, drilling and reaming. The table has longitudinal and cross movement, and a workpiece fast centring device brings the spindle onto the bore centre without the long dial-up that normally eats the setup time on block work. A boring measuring device is fitted so the operator checks size on the machine rather than carrying the block to a bench. Digital readout for the table's longitudinal and cross movement is available as an option. Three sizes are offered as the TX1500, TX2150 and TX2500, so the machine is chosen by the length of block or sleeve you actually put through the shop.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Bores accurate holes in cylinder bodies and engine sleeves and mills the cylinder surface on one machine
- Boring milling drilling and reaming in the same setup, so the block is clamped once
- Workpiece fast centring device cuts the time spent finding the bore centre on every block
- Boring measuring device lets the operator check size at the machine instead of at a bench
- Longitudinal and cross table movement covers hole positions across the block without re-clamping
- Optional digital readout on the longitudinal and cross movement for shops that want the numbers on screen
- Three frame sizes TX1500 TX2150 and TX2500 so capacity is matched to the blocks you run
Where Vertical Fine Boring & Milling Machine TX1500 Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- Boring on one machine and decking on another means clamping the block twice and losing the reference
- Finding the bore centre by hand on every block is slow and depends on the operator
- Checking bore size away from the machine adds a round trip on every cut
- Separate machines for drilling and reaming block holes tie up floor space
- A single machine size either wastes capacity on small blocks or cannot take the large ones
Who It Is For
- Engine rebuild shops doing both boring and decking in house
- Diesel and industrial engine repair shops working on sleeved blocks
- General machine shops that take in precision hole boring as a subcontract service
- Distributors equipping engine reconditioning lines in export markets
Application Scenarios
- Reboring worn cylinder bores in engine blocks before fitting oversize pistons
- Machining engine sleeve bores to size after sleeving a block
- Milling the deck surface of a cylinder block after boring
- Boring accurate holes in other workpieces that need the same precision as engine work
- Drilling and reaming holes in a block within the same setup as the boring work

How It Compares With the Alternatives
| XAIMC vertical fine boring machine T7220B | The T7220B is a boring machine; the TX series adds milling of the cylinder surface so the block does not move to a second machine to be decked |
|---|---|
| Portable boring bars | A portable bar works in the field but cannot match the rigidity and hole accuracy of a vertical fine boring machine on a benched block |
| Separate boring and milling machines | Two machines means two clamping operations and two references; the TX series holds one setup for both |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Clamp the cylinder body or sleeve on the table
Step 2
Use the fast centring device to bring the spindle onto the bore centre
Step 3
Set the table longitudinal and cross position for the hole to be bored
Step 4
Bore the hole and check size with the boring measuring device
Step 5
Change to the milling head to face the cylinder surface if decking is required
Step 6
Use drilling and reaming tooling for the remaining holes in the same setup
Step 7
Record table positions so the next block in the batch is set up faster

Questions About Vertical Fine Boring & Milling Machine TX150
Which model should I choose?
TX1500 TX2150 and TX2500 differ in working size. Send us the length width and bore diameter range of the blocks or sleeves you machine and we will confirm which model fits.
Can the machine deck the block as well as bore it?
Yes. It mills the surface of the cylinder as well as boring, so the block can be bored and the surface milled without moving to another machine.
Is a digital readout included?
DRO for the table's longitudinal and cross movement is offered as an optional accessory. Tell us if you want it quoted with the machine.
Does it drill and ream as well?
Yes. The machine can be used for boring milling drilling and reaming.
What tooling do I need to order with it?
Boring bars and cutters are specified against your bore diameter range. Send us the diameters you work on and we will quote tooling with the machine.
What voltage will it be supplied for?
We set supply voltage and frequency to your market. Confirm your shop supply when you place the order.
What are your trade and payment terms?
FOB CFR and CIF. Payment is 30 percent by T/T on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.
