What This Machine Does
The MQ8260A is a crankshaft grinder for automobile, tractor and diesel engine repair shops, used to regrind the crankpins and journals of crankshafts back to a serviceable size. The MQ8260C is modified on the basis of the MQ8260A and is intended for the same work in automobile, tractor and diesel engine works and their repair shops. Wheelhead rapid approach and withdrawal is hydraulically effected, so the operator brings the wheel to the work and clears it again without hand-cranking. The worktable can be approached either by hand or by power, and power table traverse to left or right is actuated momentarily by depressing and releasing the electric push button for the direction wanted. That arrangement is there for a practical reason: crankshaft work means spacing the table from one journal or crankpin to the next, over and over, and doing that on a button rather than a handwheel is what keeps a long shaft moving through the shop. Four different work speeds are available.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Regrinds both crankpins and journals, so one machine covers the whole crankshaft rather than part of it
- Hydraulic wheelhead rapid approach and withdrawal removes hand-cranking between cuts
- Push-button power table traverse left or right makes spacing from one journal to the next quick and repeatable
- Worktable can also be approached by hand where fine positioning is wanted
- Four work speeds let the operator match wheel and work speed to the journal being ground
- MQ8260C is the updated version of the MQ8260A, so shops can buy into a known machine with the later build
Where Crankshaft Grinding Machine MQ8260A Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- Worn crankpins and journals scrap an otherwise serviceable crankshaft when there is no way to regrind them
- Subcontracting crankshaft grinding adds days to every engine rebuild
- Hand-cranking the wheelhead in and out on every journal wastes operator time on a long shaft
- Spacing the table accurately from one journal to the next is slow without powered traverse
- A single work speed forces a compromise across different journal sizes and conditions
Who It Is For
- Automobile engine rebuild shops that currently send crankshaft grinding out
- Tractor and agricultural machinery repair shops
- Diesel engine works and their repair shops
- Distributors equipping engine reconditioning workshops in export markets
Application Scenarios
- Regrinding worn crankpins on automobile engine crankshafts to an undersize bearing
- Reconditioning tractor engine crankshafts in agricultural machinery repair shops
- Diesel engine crankshaft work in engine works and marine or industrial repair shops
- Grinding main journals after a bearing failure has scored the shaft
- Batch crankshaft reconditioning where the table must be spaced from journal to journal repeatedly

How It Compares With the Alternatives
| Sending crankshafts out for regrinding | Subcontracting adds transport and turnaround to every rebuild; grinding in house keeps the engine on your own bench |
|---|---|
| Crankshaft polishing or lapping only | Polishing restores finish but cannot take a scored journal back to an undersize bearing dimension; that needs grinding |
| MQ8260A against MQ8260C | The MQ8260C is modified on the basis of the MQ8260A for the same journal and crankpin work, so the choice is between the original build and the later one |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Mount the crankshaft and set it running true on the main journal centres
Step 2
Select the work speed suited to the journal you are grinding
Step 3
Bring the wheelhead in on the hydraulic rapid approach and set the infeed
Step 4
Grind the journal, then withdraw the wheelhead hydraulically
Step 5
Use the push-button power traverse to space the table to the next journal or crankpin
Step 6
Check diameter and roundness before moving to the next journal
Step 7
Dress the wheel as required through the shaft

Questions About Crankshaft Grinding Machine MQ8260A
What is the difference between the MQ8260A and the MQ8260C?
The MQ8260C is modified on the basis of the MQ8260A. Both grind the journals and crankpins of crankshafts for automobile tractor and diesel engine repair work. Tell us your work and we will advise which model to quote.
What size of crankshaft will it take?
Send us the length and the largest journal diameter of the crankshafts you recondition and we will confirm the capacity before you order.
Does it grind crankpins as well as main journals?
Yes. The machine is intended for grinding both the journals and the crankpins of crankshafts.
Are grinding wheels supplied?
Wheel specification depends on your journal material and size. Send us the shafts you work on and we will quote wheels with the machine.
What voltage is the machine supplied at?
We set supply voltage and frequency to your market. Confirm your shop supply when you place the order.
How is the machine packed and shipped?
It is packed for sea freight from our storehouse in Xi'an. We quote FOB CFR or CIF, so tell us your destination port.
What are your payment terms?
