What This Machine Does
The M7120, M7130 and M7140 grind flat faces on workpieces made of steel, castings, non-ferrous metals, glass and ceramics, using the periphery of the wheel. Both the longitudinal table movement and the lateral feed of the grinding head are hydraulically driven with stepless speed regulation, so feed rate is dialled to the job rather than picked from fixed steps, and the lateral feed can also be taken by hand when the operator wants to place a pass exactly. Vertical feed runs on a ball screw pair, which is why small downfeed increments actually reach the wheel instead of being lost in backlash. The grinding head uses a built-in motor, so there is no belt between motor and spindle: the head stays compact, the spindle is rigid and the accuracy holds. Vertical feed is manual with a quick lifting mechanism, so the operator is not winding the head up and down between parts. The structure is compact and the controls are straightforward, which suits a general workshop rather than a dedicated grinding cell.
Why Buyers Choose This Machine
- Grinds flat faces on steel castings non-ferrous metals glass and ceramics on one machine
- Hydraulic longitudinal and lateral feed with stepless speed regulation so feed rate suits the job not a fixed step
- Lateral feed can also be taken manually when a pass needs to be placed exactly
- Ball screw vertical feed gives high feed sensitivity so small downfeed increments actually reach the wheel
- Built-in grinding head motor removes the belt drive keeping the head compact and the spindle rigid
- Quick lifting mechanism on the vertical feed cuts the operator effort between parts
- Compact structure and simple operation suit a general workshop without a grinding specialist
Where Surface Grinding Machine M7120 Earns Its Place
Problems It Solves
- A milled face is not flat or smooth enough for a sealing or sliding surface
- Fixed feed steps force one compromise rate across very different materials
- Backlash in a leadscrew swallows the small downfeed increments a grinder depends on
- A belt-driven head introduces vibration that shows up as chatter in the ground face
- Winding the head up and down manually between parts wears the operator out over a shift
- Glass and ceramic parts cannot be finished with a conventional cutting tool
Who It Is For
- General mechanical processing workshops
- Machine repair workshops restoring worn flat surfaces
- Toolrooms grinding hardened components and fixtures
- Workshops handling glass and ceramic as well as metal parts
- Distributors supplying entry and mid-size surface grinders
Application Scenarios
- Flattening milled faces on steel and cast components
- Finishing hardened parts after heat treatment in a toolroom
- Grinding glass and ceramic parts where a metal cutting tool cannot be used
- Machine repair work restoring flat reference faces on worn parts
- Grinding non-ferrous plate and fixture bases
- Small batch flat grinding in a general mechanical processing workshop

- Manual and control markings prepared in your working language
How It Compares With the Alternatives
| M7150 to M7180 series surface grinders | The M71 large models take much longer tables and offer a hydrodynamic-hydrostatic spindle option; the M7120 to M7140 are the compact machines for a general workshop |
|---|---|
| M7232 and M7240 surface grinding machines | M7232 and M7240 are larger table machines aimed at bigger workpieces; these models give the same grinding method in a smaller footprint |
| Face milling | Milling removes metal faster but leaves a tool-marked face and will not touch hardened parts glass or ceramic |
| Belt driven grinding head | The built-in motor head removes the belt as a vibration path which is what keeps chatter out of the ground surface |
Running the Machine
Step 1
Clean the chuck and seat the workpiece with nothing trapped underneath
Step 2
Use the quick lifting mechanism to bring the head near the work then switch to fine vertical feed
Step 3
Dress the wheel before starting the component
Step 4
Set the hydraulic longitudinal traverse speed to suit the material
Step 5
Choose hydraulic lateral feed for a full pass or manual feed where you want to place the pass
Step 6
Take light downfeed increments with coolant so heat does not distort the part
Step 7
Spark out on the last pass and measure off the machine

Questions About Surface Grinding Machine M7120
Which model do we need?
The three models differ in table and workpiece size. Send us the largest part you grind and we will confirm whether M7120 M7130 or M7140 fits.
Can it grind glass and ceramic?
Yes, as well as steel castings and non-ferrous metals. The wheel specification changes with the material, so tell us what you are grinding and we will quote the right wheels.
Is the vertical feed powered?
Vertical feed is manual on a ball screw pair, with a quick lifting mechanism so you are not winding the head over its full travel. Longitudinal and lateral feeds are hydraulic.
What surface finish and flatness will we get?
That depends on your material, fixturing, wheel and coolant. Send us the drawing with your requirement and we will tell you before you order whether the machine holds it.
Can it be supplied for our supply voltage?
Yes. Give us your voltage phase and frequency with the enquiry and the machine is wired for your market.
Is a magnetic chuck included?
Chuck type and size are specified with the machine against your parts. Tell us the size and material of what you grind and we will quote the chuck with it.
What are your payment and trade terms?
FOB CFR and CIF. Payment is 30 percent by T/T on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.
