Overview

What This Machine Does

The BL1341G is a small manual bench lathe in the CZ1340G/1 and CZ1440G/1 family, built for shops that turn shafts, sleeves and small housings and want the work held rigidly rather than quickly. The bed ways are hardened by supersonic frequency treatment and the spindle runs in precision roller bearings, so the machine keeps its alignment under repeated clamping and interrupted cuts. Headstock gears are ground and hardened steel and the gearbox is arranged for fast lever changes rather than belt swapping. The spindle nose is an ASA D4 camlock, which means chucks and face plates come off and go back on in seconds and repeat their seating, a real difference when one job needs a three-jaw and the next needs a four-jaw. The two frame sizes give 330mm or 355mm swing over the bed, 195mm or 220mm over the carriage and 476mm or 500mm in the gap, both on a 186mm bed with 1000mm between centres.

Key Benefits

Why Buyers Choose This Machine

  • ASA D4 camlock spindle nose lets chucks and face plates be changed quickly and seat repeatably
  • Supersonic frequency hardened bed ways resist the wear that turns long shafts taper
  • Two frame sizes give 330mm or 355mm swing over bed so the machine is matched to the work rather than oversized
  • Gap swing of 476mm or 500mm handles flange and pulley faces wider than the bed clears
  • Precision roller bearing spindle holds accuracy under the load of heavier roughing cuts
  • Lever-operated gearbox changes speed without opening covers or moving belts
  • Thread cutting functions cover the pitches a repair shop actually meets
Application

Where Small Manual Bench Lathe Machine BL1341G Earns Its Place

Problems It Solves

  • Threaded spindle noses are slow to change and can unscrew under braking; the D4 camlock does not
  • Unhardened ways wear at the chuck end and the machine starts cutting taper on every long job
  • Wide work that will not clear the bed has to be sent out unless the machine has a gap
  • Belt-driven speed change costs time on every setup where speed has to be matched to diameter
  • Soft as-cut headstock gears become noisy and lose drive accuracy under interrupted cuts
  • Choosing one frame size for everything means either too little swing or a machine that will not fit the floor

Who It Is For

  • Small workshops that need one manual lathe to cover varied repair work
  • Toolrooms making fixtures jigs and replacement components
  • Vehicle and machinery repair shops turning their own parts
  • Vocational training centres teaching manual turning practice
  • Importers supplying general engineering shops

Application Scenarios

  • Turning shafts and pins up to 1000mm between centres in a repair workshop
  • Facing pulleys flanges and brake components in the gap
  • Frequent chuck changes between three-jaw four-jaw and face plate work
  • Cutting replacement threads on studs spindles and adjusters
  • Boring bushes and housings held on the face plate
  • General second-operation turning in a toolroom or training workshop

Comparison

How It Compares With the Alternatives

Bench lathe with a threaded spindle noseThe ASA D4 camlock changes chucks faster and cannot unscrew when the spindle is braked or run in reverse
Bench Lathe Machine CZ1237The CZ1237 is the smaller frame at 305mm swing and 940MM centres; BL1341G gives 330mm or 355mm swing over a 1000mm bed
Flat-bed lathe without a gapThe gap opens the swing to 476mm or 500mm, which is the difference between facing a flange in house and subcontracting it
Untreated cast bed waysSupersonic frequency hardened ways keep carriage geometry far longer in a shop that runs the machine daily
Use Guide

Running the Machine

Step 1

Level the lathe and check the bed for twist before the first cut

Step 2

Mount the chuck on the D4 camlock nose and lock every cam to its mark

Step 3

Select spindle speed on the gearbox levers to suit diameter and material

Step 4

Set the feed or thread pitch from the gearbox plate before engaging the lead screw

Step 5

Remove the gap piece only for large diameter work and refit it before long shaft turning

Step 6

Support long work between centres or with the steady rest to avoid deflection

Step 7

Clean and oil the ways and lead screw at the end of each shift

FAQ

Questions About Small Manual Bench Lathe Machine BL1341G

What is the difference between CZ1340G/1 and CZ1440G/1?

Frame size. The CZ1340G/1 swings 330mm over the bed and 476mm in the gap; the CZ1440G/1 swings 355mm and 500mm. Both take 1000mm between centres on a 186mm bed.

What chucks fit the spindle?

The spindle nose is an ASA D4 camlock, so any correctly backed D4 camlock chuck or face plate fits. Tell us the chuck sizes you want supplied with the machine.

How long a shaft can I turn?

1000mm between centres. For long slender work use the steady rest or follow rest so the cut does not push the work out of line.

What supply voltage do you build to?

The machine is wired for the voltage frequency and phase you state on the order. Send us your supply details with the enquiry.

What is the lead time and how is it packed?

Lead time depends on the model and accessory package; send us the configuration and we will confirm it in writing. Machines are packed for sea or air freight and shipped FOB CFR or CIF.

How do I order spare parts later?

Quote the model and the machine number on the plate and we will identify the part from the assembly records. Fast-wearing items can be supplied with the machine if you tell us the duty you run.

What are your payment terms?

30 percent by T/T on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.
