The standard range

Our metal materials are bare copper, oxygen-free copper (OFC), tin-copper alloy, iron-copper alloy, silver-copper alloy, nickel-chromium alloy, nickel-iron alloy, copper-nickel alloy (also known as constantan), enameled copper wire and enameled alloy copper wire.

Conductivity first

Bare copper and oxygen-free copper are what you specify when conductivity governs and the mechanical demands are within what pure copper handles. Oxygen-free copper is the choice where the conductivity figure is specified tightly.

Strength first

Tin-copper, iron-copper and silver-copper alloys raise the mechanical ceiling above what pure copper can reach, which is what stranded high-swing conductors need when breaking load is the governing number.

Resistance first

Nickel-chromium alloy, nickel-iron alloy and copper-nickel alloy, better known as constantan, are the resistance alloys. These are specified when the requirement is a resistance value rather than a current capacity, which is the case in heating elements.

Temper and special materials

Soft copper wire is annealed for conductors that flex; hard copper wire holds form. Beyond the standard range, graphene copper wire, graphene aluminum wire, single crystal copper wire and pure silver wire can all be supplied.
