What Copper Stranded Wire Is And How It Is Built
Where a single conductor cannot deliver both the cross-section and the flexibility a cable needs, stranding does it. We produce copper stranded wire and silver stranded wire in bare copper, oxygen-free copper and copper alloys, and the copper can be annealed soft or left hard depending on whether the finished cable is being asked to bend or to hold its shape. Stranded constructions can also be mixed with tinsel wire in the same conductor when bending strength has to rise further.

Do you supply oxygen-free copper?
Yes. Oxygen-free copper is one of the standard metal materials we work in, alongside bare copper, tin-copper alloy, iron-copper alloy, silver-copper alloy, nickel-chromium alloy, nickel-iron alloy and copper-nickel alloy.
What is the difference between your soft and hard copper wire?
Soft copper wire is annealed, which lowers its stiffness and suits conductors that have to flex. Hard copper wire has not had that treatment and holds form better. Both can be supplied.
Can you plate stranded wire?
Plating in tin, silver or nickel is available with a coating thickness customizable in the 0.3 um to 2 um range. The coating is uniform and continuous, with strong adhesion and a smooth surface free of discoloration, particles and mechanical damage.
